I have a little anecdote to share which reminded me of RD's famous "Calculator Man on Black Friday" radio tale. Recently, a noted Italian restaurant in the city where I live had a special to celebrate its 40th anniversary. All proceeds were to be donated to charity. To celebrate, they offered their 1970 dinner special--spaghetti, bread, drink and dessert, for the 1970 price of $2! I ate there a couple of days before the anniversary date, and made a mental note to come back. That day, I went after work and when I arrived, I saw that there was a line-up that stretched three blocks down the street. I went to the end of the long long line and ran into a lady who decided to phone the restaurant. "How long is the wait? Three hours?!?!" I decided that saving about $10-12 wasn't a great trade for 3 or more hours of my time, so I left. But I was surprised that no one else within earshot of this lady decided to go. Perhaps "Calculator Man" has lots of relatives who happen to live in my city? Thanks...
