I liked this induction, because it is one of the few inductions that I had no prior knowledge of. I had never even heard of it! If it was mentioned in the Death of WCW, I must have forgotten since I have read the book. I just have a couple questions about what happened that night:
1. So we know that Dean Malenko intentionally left the ring, thus abruptly causing himself to lose. Did Dean know about the stipulation and simply forget, or did nobody tell Dean about the stip whatsoever?
2. You mentioned that Kidman angrily drove home after this match before his match with The Wall. Did the Kidman/Wall match get cancelled, or did Kidman eventually drive back to the arena? If it was cancelled, how did the announcers explain it?

Did Dean know about the stipulation and simply forget, or did nobody tell Dean about the stip whatsoever? That was the first question that popped into my head, too. Then I thought it was kind of odd that they stopped the match, considering how many stip matches in WCW at that time occured where the stip would happen (IE; First Blood) and the match would just continue anyway.

I remember reading that it was supposed to go 15 minutes.

1. He just flat out forgot. 2. When I said motored out of the arena, I meant that he basically ran from ringside to backstage. Not that he actually drove away. Sorry for the bad choice of words. 8)

Thanks for the answers RD! For the answer to #1, I am disappointed with Dean! A touch of the ol' Alzheimers I guess. He's still one of my favorite mat technicians though.
As for #2, I see what you mean now. Kidman got the hell out of the ring afterwards, much like how Trish did after her match with Miss Jackie. Makes sense to me!

Ah, you WCW cats with your weird, weird matches. Remember the first blood match with Sting and Vampiro? The first one to bleed lost the match. Average match until Vampiro "mysteriously" exited the ring, and did a throat-cut gesture. Sting was then doused with a big pile of blood, and by "blood", I mean the type of gunk people get hit with on kiddie's game shows. Still, Sting lost the match. I dunno, maybe he got a cut from all that fake blood.

Yes Kane and Austin, but it wasn't done in the match, Kane just did it for intimidation. And since it was the first time done (and austin just looks good covered in blood) it actually looked cool (which cued chants of "kick his ass"). Another similiar thing was the Brood's blooth baths which were also pretty cool that I forgot about.
