Hey RD. I was thinking about the Tatanka thing from your interview with us. So just looked around, and looks like I had something right for once !! The 13 year mystery is solved. "What does Tatanka mean? Tatanka is a Lakota word that literally means “bull buffalo,” but Tatanka meant more than that. Ceremonies and daily life revolved around sacred reverence for Tatanka." www.storyofthebison.com/

Um........I am guessing you never saw Dances with Wolves huh? Mystery was solved then. Well, when we talked to RD on the show he said he never knew why they had Buffalo after Tatanka. I said I thought it was the meaning of Tatanka. Just thought I'd post it here for him

Oh sorry about that guys if I sounded like a jerk. I had to watch that crappy movie back in High School, and it was then when they kept seeing the Buffalo and saying Tatanka that I realized it meant Buffalo. Sorry for ASSuming everyone watched that crappy movie.

I figured Tatanka probably meant Buffalo. However, he always said he was a Lumbee Indian from North Carolina, which would have put him out of the Great Plains region where buffalo hunting occurred.

Dances with wolves wasn't a crappy movie at all! Was a bit long? YEAH! was it crappy? NO! But then again, not a movie for most high school kids.

Well maybe I was a bit immature for it LOL. Maybe now I would appreciate it more now that I am older. I guess I just need to sit down and watch it again.

Yeah..it wasn't that bad....I mean it was 4 HOURS LONG!!! but it had a moderately good story even if it did star Kevin Costnar. Still kinda get creeped out when they kill his horse though..

In the right role (ie in Fandango or The Untouchables, or even Tin Cup), Costner is good. File him next to 'Clooney, George', in the Can't Save a Bad Movie, but Will be Good, Given a Chance folder
