RD, I'm from upstate NY & have been watching wrestling for too long. My family owns a summer home up on the NY/Canadian border. As A kid over the summer I would always tune into the Weekend WWF shows, but they would be hosted by Ray Rougeau. He would totally mark out for any Canadian wrestler including his Mountie brother. I always thought these WWF Canada Shows were really interesting. Had the Same logo, the same matches but it was different. Have you yourself ever watched a tape of any of these Shows? Your thoughts? Are they crap? Thanks

Are they crap? Thanks I don't believe I've ever seen one of these shows. That's actually not a bad idea, though. I think catering a product to a specific audience is really a lost art in wrestling. For instance, in the old days, wrestlers would cut promos mentioning specific towns as a way of hyping up the show, selling tickets. I can't see that doing anything but helping house show attendance. It's something that should be brought back. RD

That's Exactly how it was with the promos. It's proof that even as mainstream as Vince had gotten at that point he still had to promote & think regionally. I do reccomend you getting a hold of some old Ray Rougeau hosted stuff it's pretty funny if your an American.

I know there were matches that Ray commentated with Gorrila Monsoon when he was WWF president. Its funny, though, during the matches and heels do something wrong Monsoom will always make a threat of finung the wrestlers or suspending them but as weall know noneof that actually happened.
