What you think? Vince and Co. will screw this up? They made it look real.. but leading him up the ramp in handcuffs kinda gives you the clue he is signed.
Have to admit.. the annpouncers not making reference to it is quite unique and odd.

They want to make it seem unique and odd. Tonight it was played almost perfectly. It could have only been played better if they had Matt attack Edge during the match and have Kane almost "break character" by looking confused and stuff.
Great job though

i stand and applaud WWE on this one, they did a great job, for the first time in a long time they had me honestly thinking to myself, was that supposed to happen, after that backstage segment.
and the charecter Hardy is showing so far as kind of a loose cannon, is great, mentioning Ring Of Honor and talking to Johnny Ace on the way out like that were great touches that the WWE would usually shy away from.
once again, Vince and Co. for all the (wrestle)crap you take from us fans, you can still deliver big time, good job.

i too was wondering if it was real or part of the whole wrestling gimmick bc it was dealing wit h real life. my girlfriend thought i was lame and pointed out that if he really was arrested, he wouldnt have been led up the ramp, they would have brought him out a different door or soemthing. i felt lame.

My theory is that they're playing it as "we-know-you-know-it's-a-work-but-let's-pretend-it's-a-shoot." Kind of like how they do a show-within-a-show in movies and TV. I honestly don't believe that WWE expects us to believe that they legitimately allowed a disgruntled former employee threaten two performers and disrupt a live TV show. They just want to invoke that kind of reality.
As I've said, my only real gripe is that Hardy called Edge "Adam," yet he called Lita by her stage name instead of "Amy." Although I never for a second doubted that this was a work, that kind of disrupted the "reality" of the segment for me.
On an unrelated note, I will always mark-out for Roddy Piper, mainly because I remember what he was and he was one of the most influential and underrated performers in this business. Go back and look at the Piper's enterance at WrestleMania I--he comes sauntering into MSG with a smug look on his face and his bagpipers and a riot damn near erupted. THAT'S how you get heat!

Say what you will about the reality of the angle, but WWE actually pulled this one off right. The only thing I think they should've done differently was the attack backstage. They should've had Matt jump Edge while they were in the ring, that way it would've been a little less predictable. Still I too commend the WWE for doing one thing right last night. Matt's return as the anti-hero, loose cannon role came off great. Not having J.R. and King acknowledge it managed to make it seem more real. Now if they could do something about those independent wrestling cops.

Yes being tackled by Skinner and Johnny Ace looked quite odd too.

I think it went off allright....the one thing I did not like is how they took him up the rampway to lead him out the building. Also if it was supossed to be this big shooot, why did he call Edge "Adam" and still call the whore by her gimick name?

They are the WWE agents that tackled matt hardy to the ground. One of the agents, Steve keirn, westled in the 90's in the WWF as Skinner a wrestler from flordia who poaches animals and skins them. Yes, he has been inducted into wrestlecrap and features one of the worst entrance music ever.

It was done great, I thought it was a staged Mat when he first attacked backstage. A fake like razor and Big Sexy, but then the TIVO does not lie. My lady thought it was real but I told her they would cut the mic etc. I think it was great how it went but I to would have liked if Kane looked confused then you could repackage him quicker, then now people knowing he was not Litas husband.

Y'know what might make it work?
If they have Matt come down to no music as long as he's working those indy dates. It would add to the reality of having him as an unemployed loose canon.
