Summerslam 2010 gives a good "what if" story featuring the 7 on 7 tag team match (NXT rookies team VS john Cena 's team)

It hasn't even happened yet! Jed Shaffer ~Unless somebody has a DeLorean. Yes, i know but the result of the match could turn into a What if story in favor of which team lost at Summerslam 2010

Yes, i know but the result of the match could turn into a What if story in favor of which team lost at Summerslam 2010 I don't know if I can speak for Neil or Simon, but I know my rule of thumb was you gotta let something play out all the way and see if there are any ramifications or ripple effects from it. A year or two down the line, okay, it'd make sense. But my gut feeling would be they'd say "too soon". Jed Shaffer ~Simon, Neil ... you're the writers. You have the floor.

The idea could still be viable later, after we wait it out and see how it actually plays out. Maybe a year or so from now, the idea could be revisited. Now would be too soon, but it could be filed away for the future.
Watching that episode, I actually had an RTB idea for it myself: What if...John Cena had agreed to join Nexus?

Would Danielson's incident be viable if he turns down WWE?

I guess RD was busy and forgot to put up part 3. I sent it 9 days ago and he has been busy. I'll remind him for next week.

My DeLorean needs a water pump.
I want to request Vader winning at SummerSlam '96.

To shamelessly promote someone else, seriously, dav's story rocks. And yeah, I was wondering about why there was no part 3 today. Mini-induction means no posting pre-written stuff when it would help bulk it out, apparently. More of RTB being the unloved bastard son of WC, I guess.

I'd say more it boils down to "RD forgot he has part 3 already". Jed Shaffer ~Or it's the Mafia. And Cuba. CONSPIRACY!!!

And the freemasons! You forgot them. They're totally in on this! I mean, they have that three pointed pyramid, there's three of us, JUST LOOK AT THE SIGNS, JED! And yeah, I regret my last post here. Bad mood Neil shouldn't be allowed online, or to talk to anyone, really. He should just be locked in a room with a bottle of Jim Beam and a 20 of GItanes until everything's alright

I agree totally though some things are easier to see than others(Sting-Hogan 97 and The Gobbledy Gooker being two). As soon as those happened one could tell they could have been much better done due to the intense build up then failed delivery. Thankfully, both have been. But even then it would take time. WCW could have done things right after Starrcade making the effects of Starrcade much more negligible and Terry Taylor's career could have had an upswing.

Thought I'd comment on a few of the post-kayfabe era RTBs, all of which I've enjoyed, even though I never saw most of the angles involved. I don't say this just to brownnose, but it's a tribute to the quality of writing that "RTB" has had and continues to have.
I'll start with the Higher Power one. For an old-school fan like me, this one was tremendous, because of Jake. We've all wondered what would happen if he was to be sober enough for one last run with the shackles removed from his character, and this would have been tremendous. He doesn't wrestle enough to be exposed, but the fans get one hell of a payoff match with him and Austin, plus the full benefit of his tremendous promo skills when he's with Taker. Don't care much for the McMahon family drama, but that's not Jed's fault; I hated what I saw of it in real life too. Jake giving Steph the DDT would have drawn big-time heat because Steph was a babyface at the time, but the rest of it was par for the course. Again, that's not on Jed; a little McMahon goes a long, long way in any universe.
One thing, though: What was the purpose of keeping Paul Bearer with Taker when you have Jake, who's so much better on the mic? I understand that he sort of comes with the gimmick, but it just seems like a case of too many cooks.
Forgot about the cameo appearance by Jesse, who reprises his real-life role of referee at SummerSlam '99. Great stuff, especially him acting as spokesman for Linda after his character disliked Vince for so many years.
Oh, if only Jake could have stayed sober..............

I kept the McMahon family drama in there because it fit the booking style, and it fit the scenario. Russo's booking had lots of McMahon in it, so, I used it the same effect. Agreed, a little McMahon goes a long way for the most part ... but at the time, the McMahons played a huge role in the storyline, so to remove them would've just not made sense.
With Bearer, there was no need to take him out. Roberts was the Higher Power, but Bearer was still Undertaker's mentor and father to his half-brother. True, he's a bit extraneous as far as a mouthpiece goes, but he fills a role Jake doesn't: the slimy, helpless weasel.
Strangely enough, this very early story, while I like the overall outcome and the angle decisions it went through, the overall execution ... yeah, you can tell it was my second story. Very different narrative flow. Choppy. Inelegant.
Jed Shaffer ~If Jake could've stayed sober, we could've had another DECADE of awesome work from him, at least.

You'll have to pardon me when I talk about the Mr. McMahon character, Jed. I found little to no use for him, really, or the family either. Vince was at least a halfway decent heel, which I could appreciate, if not approve of. But the rest of them...........well, that's why I quit watching.

How about a rockers breakup with the roles reversed (marty as the heel, shawn as the face)?

I really disliked the supernatural stuff, especially with a key part of the face's side in the actual storyline that the supernatural crap was well, crap. Actually treating it like it was real totally turned me off.

I was just checking out the random what-ifs, and I read the one about Triple H and the sledgehammer. It was hilarious, especially thinking about the poor slob with seventy-eight cans of chicken noodle soup using the express lane; there are people out there like that, and that's why I leave the grocery shopping to my father! I also liked how the clerk wiped her face after Helmsley spit the water at her, like she'd done it a million times. Clsssic!
