What other tag team can ever say they had been champions of the NWA, WWE and AWA?

The Road Warriors. It just sounded more bad ass than L.O.D. and for those who are wondering the original L.O.D. stable -Road Warrior Hawk -Road Warrior Animal -Jake Roberts -King Kong Bundy -Arn Anderson -The Spoiler -Matt Borne -The Iron Sheik -The Original Sheik Now tell me that is not one bad ass stable. ;D I would say that your avator of Stan Hansen was the baddest(in a cool way) of them all. Yes very true ;D

if i recall right, when they first appeared they and Ellering together were called the Legion of Doom but the Hawk/Animal team itself was called the Road Warriors. which is what i always thought of them as. You're close here. Hawk and Animal were the Road Warriors. They were part of a larger stable, including King Kong Bundy & Jake Roberts (possibly others at times, can't quite remember), managed by Paul Ellering, known as the Legion of Doom. Therefore, they're the Road Warriors. That's my logic as well. Damn, do I feel OLD all of a sudden.

Legion of Doom. They may not have Lex Luthor or a swamp based base, but that is what they are to me.

The Road Warriors, because I started watching them in 87.
And for those who only saw them as the Legion Of Doom, you not only missed out on the Road Warrior name, but you missed out on the better version of the team.
I don't think they aged that much between their last NWA/WCW match and their WWF debut. In fact I know they didn't, but the WWF watered them down, like they do most wrestlers that come in.
They make more money for doing less wrestling, but they make up for their time in the ring by doing appearances and stuff. I guess the WWF wrestlers can't be bothered with actually competing on a high level lest they get injured and can't sell T shirts. Not a criticism, just an observation.

I was introduced to them as the Legion of Doom in the WWF - when I learned more about them, I call them the Road Warriors for their non-WWF work, and the LOD for their WWF work, like how I call Team 3D the Dudleys for their non-TNA work.

Wrestling has a way of doing that to us (shudder) thirtysomethings. ForgottenWarrior, I was thinking last night...wasn't Buzz Sawyer a part of LOD at one time as well?
