Just by them growing and becoming more visible, they function as a healthy WWE alternative. I get that Dixie and Hogan want to target an older demographic, but I have visions of them falling into the trap of cheap shocks.
Not that I'm asking for Stomper to come back and pin Joe, it's just nearly impossible to keep 12 to 15-year-olds away from wrestling, even with a TV-14 rating. WWF in the late 90's was proof of that.
TNA's content and mood now seem to be just right to accomplish their goal, and I don't think they should spoil it by going full-blown ECW, or trying to be a second UFC for Spike. That'll look bush league.

That'll look bush league. That is a great observation. If they take anything away from Jerry Springer, it should be the constant build up that goes on, and then shock people by the outcome of storylines as they progress. They should only use four letter words when it means something to the story, and not just for the heck of it.

Scantily clad women is now mainstream culture, isn't it?
I can't really think of much TNA is doing that's considered 'adult', really.

It's still nowhere close to crash tv. Somebody on here wrote a post after the 4 Jan Impact that said "It was crash tv for the sake of crash tv". The most adult or crash tv-esque segment I have seen since Hogan and Bischoff came in was on the 4 Jan Impact and it was TBP and Val venis playing strip poker. Thats all. I failt to see what else constituted the quote above about crash tv.
It is changing but they havn't gone over board and I too hope they don't

I think they're only going to be "adult" in the sense that storylines can go a bit farther and things can feel grittier and real. Adult when compared to the WWE and their ridiculous skits and Leprechauns.

I have a long list of complaints about TNA, but it turning into ECW isn't one of them. Besides, the bar has been lowered so much for taste that TNA is far from even near the bottom. If TNA starts having Mass Transit Incidents, then I'll complain about it "going too adult".

On a side note the eluding to OJ's sexuality the other day was both a step forward for wrestling and a step to the adult arena that may end badly for them. we'll see

If they beat you over the head with it then its just going to look stupid and cheap, If you build it up smart and subtly it pushes the boundaries and makes your product look edgy but smart.

I don't get how OJ's situation is at all adult. There have been relationships in wrestling ever since I was a kid in the late 80's and likely before.
Adult would be graphic violence, nudity, bad language etc.
"someone happens to have a sexuality shocker" is hardly pushing any boundaries. Or at least, it shouldn't

Someone will always find something to complain about, especially if they can use the 'think about the children' excuse...WWE's had enough of that during the Attitude era and is playing it safe for now.

Meh, if Flairs constant womanizing hasnt turned people away from wrestling, I doubt any of O.J.s antics will.

Unfortunately a large portion of the audience are...well not homophobic but they're not really used to it. It makes them uncomfortable. We live in a society where a commercial with a guy kissing another guy can get pulled on grounds of decency but one with a guy kissing a girl is perfectly fine. Also defeats the pupose if they cut his entrance every week.

In an attempt to appeal to adult fans, the loudest cheerers get a free Arch Deluxe.

The political climate still makes people think there is something wrong in real life with what OJ is doing, and some people put it in league with other immoral things.
