Does anyone know the whole point of friend/rival system?
I am rivals with Carwin, friend with Lesnar, but I keep being put up against Lesnar. Nothing seems to change.

In UFC 2009 there was a way to max out your created players skills and then fight exhibition bouts. I tried to do it this time around and it didnt work..much to my chagrin.
Is there any way to do that in 2010? If not...lame. There should always be a make the perfect fighter option just like there is in the NBA, NFL, and MLB games.

I finally rented the game earlier in the week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Submissions are damn near impossible, so I just focused on stand-up fighting. Head kicks, spinning back fists and Superman punches for everyone.
One thing I noticed... I think they took out Rampage Jackson's awesome mount transition from 2009 where he picks the guy up off the ground and slams him. I couldn't find it.

I've been playing the game for a week now, so I figured I'd give my thoughts:
-Submissions are really hard to pull off, like everyone is saying. But, damn is it satisfying when ya get one!
-They need to fix the servers soon before I say f*** it and never bother trying to go online again. I haven't been able to get one fight and it's pissing me off
-I'm seriously starting to doubt that you can actually get a cut stoppage
-The stand up is awesome, if I hadn't gotten so determined to rack up some Subs. I probably wouldn't have even bothered going to the ground. Love the grapple game too
-Stupid Gamestop exclusives, I wanna be able to use Big Country now dammit!!

I once had a doctor stop a fight for a cut, but then he said it was ok and it continued. I was annoyed.

I once had a doctor stop a fight for a cut, but then he said it was ok and it continued. I was annoyed. That's normally how it starts. From what I've experienced (3 doctor stoppages), the first one is basically to tell you you're in trouble. A little more damage to the cut (just jabs or straights, no power shots or he'll be KO'd) and the doctor will step in again, this time ending the fight.

Does anyone know the whole point of friend/rival system? I am rivals with Carwin, friend with Lesnar, but I keep being put up against Lesnar. Nothing seems to change. It has to do with your Fight Camp training during Career. If you're friends with Lesnar, when you train at the Minnesota Academy (or whatever it's called), you get a bonus on what's required to learn a move. Likewise, if you were rivals with Lesnar, it would cost more and take longer to learn a move at his camp.

I bought the game today and have pretty much figured everything out except how to doge and weave. Anyone know how?

Is there any way to do that in 2010? If not...lame. There should always be a make the perfect fighter option just like there is in the NBA, NFL, and MLB games. Agreed. Immenseley frustrating having to take them through Career every time, which rapidly goes from being fun to a chore. Especially as learning subs from camps are pretty much impossible-you might get 1 submission in the time allocated, meaning it'll take 8-10 weeks of using that camp to learn 1 move. I don't have any trouble getting submissions in exhibition though- the easiest way is to just destroy your opponent's body. Then a takedown or clinch throw should rock them and a sub is easy, plus regular subs become easier anyway as their stamina is shot. I've even gotten an ankle lock submission with Lesnar this way. EDIT: However I can't get doctor stoppage either. I've doen a 5 round fight to the point where the mat, my guy, and the other guy's face is literally covered in my opponnent's blood, and the doctor just patches the cut up as normal. It's the perfect example of a THQ game- very fun at first and in exhibition, but creation and game modes are seriously lacking. Look at career- it takes an eternity to level up stats, stat decay kicks in way too soon so I'm instead just waiting until I can go straight to the stable points of 30, 50 & 70, then will save up to get the stats how I want before retiring. Takes forever though. I'm doing a career as Fedor and I've gotten to the heavyweight title fight, which is really pissing me off. It's not losing that bothers me it's losing so cheaply, unable to do anything about it, that bothers me. I've been KO'd by Herring twice and Dos Santos once and was fine with that, but the title fight is against Werdum and is just ridiculous. Done it about 7 times now, every time he beats me within 2 minutes via submission, and this is on Beginner difficultty as well. In exhibition I trounce him, in career I haven't a prayer. i can't block any of his transitions, it takes me about 5 attempts to pull one off, his takedown is that cheap unblockable one, and I can maybe survive 1 submission attempt. Soon as he slaps the 2nd one on its over no matter what. Bearing in mind I have ground grapple defense and submission defence of 70 each, and i'm going in with only 7% fatigue. This is the problem- THQ and Yukes have perfected the art of making a game fun in the very short term on the limited level. Exhibition, title, Event, they're all awesome. Career starts out fun but rapidly becomes repetitive and irritating. CAF is pretty much useless as without career you won't have a decent fighter, but it'll take you far too long to get a good fighter and some of the moves are next to impossible to acquire. I'm not even going to try to learn a Level 3 submission, career would probably end before I'd got it. So much of this could be rectified so easily though- remove the points cap on stats and moves for Created Fighters, and either make points easier to acquire in Career, or reduce stat decay. As it is I can do exhibition fights all day but have been seriously put off creating fighters. I'd intended to make around 15-20 fighters, I now doubt i'll even make 5 as it'd take me far too much time to get them how I want them.

I officially hate Fabricio Werdum.
Try again, he beats me in 30 seconds doing literally 2 moves- unblockable takedown and arm triangle.
Try again and manage to keep kicking him off by constantly transitioning, he knocks me out with a jab the moment I get up. He'd hit me with about 10 shots to the head in the whole fight before this, and I have 70 for strike defence. I'd hit him with more strikes, getting a cut on him, yet nothing had even rocked him.
So I've been using him as a punching bag in exhibition. And even then on Beginner he's asburdly cheap. Several fights all he does is takedown, takedown, takedown. He's like an irriitating kid online. Takedown, try a sub, as soon as I get up takedown. Knocking him out with a flying knee as Arlovski was extremely satisfying.

I bought the game today and have pretty much figured everything out except how to doge and weave. Anyone know how? Hold High Block (RB or R1) and flick the Left Stick in any direction to dodge in that direction. Follow up immediately after the dodge with a Punch for the Counter Strike. Also, for those of you having trouble with submissions, I'd like to direct you over to a thread at the official UFC Community: community.ufcundisputed.com/forums/topic/171939This will help you out immensely.

Chalk this one up to the "S*** I'm Never Gonna Pull Off Again" file, I made Machida tap in like 20 sec. I hit him with 2 elbows, the 2nd one rocked him, took him down and went straight for the anklelock and got the flash sub.
Granted, my CAF has a 98 Sub. Offense rating

Is it just me or does anybody else love coming up with event cards, playing half of them and watching the others? I watched a WAR between Dan Severn & Frank Mir last night, 2 rounds of Severn making Mir his bitch with takedowns a plenty, vicious G&P but for some reason in the third, Mir grew some balls and with :30 left in the fight, hit him with one of the most vicious right hands I've ever seen, and knocked him out cold.

So far have run a few tournaments to see who is the best of he best.
Heavyweight Champion- JDS beat Stefan Struve Light Heavy- Anderson beat Shogun Medium- Anderson beat Bisping
In other words, the computer rewards strikers against itself.
So far the most entertaining fight was Silva vs. Belfort, a total technical beatdown. Nelson upsettng Lesnar was also hilarious.
Also a trick I found for earning EXP in career mode. Takedown, Get up, Takedown, Get up. Repeat. You can easily clear 100 with later partners.

Clinch -> Throw -> Sub Clinch -> Throw -> Sub Clinch -> Throw -> Sub
