10:45-11:00 RAW 3.60 Impact 0.76 Clearly that AJ Styles doesn't know how to draw Hogan calling him 'little flair' or whatever a few weeks ago hurt things for him. Just look at the difference in quality between his and Flair's robes. It sort of speaks volumes as to what they are doing with him in general.

9:00-9:15 RAW 3.45 Impact 0.99 9:15-9:30 RAW 3.15 Impact 0.98 9:30-9:45 RAW 3.27 Impact 1.00 9:45-10:00 RAW 3.15 Impact 1.07 HOUR ONE RAW 3.26 Impact 1.01 10:00-10:15 RAW 3.39 Impact 1.07 10:15-10:30 RAW 3.56 Impact 1.03 10:30-10:45 RAW 3.27 Impact 0.95 10:45-11:00 RAW 3.60 Impact 0.76 HOUR TWO RAW 3.46 Impact 0.95 OVERALL RAW 3.36 Impact 0.98 Judging by these quarter hours. TNA did not steal any of Raw audiences or hurt Raw at all really. Raw audiences hurt Raw by changing the channel to something else? .76? guess no one wanted to see Hogan wrestle after all. Well given that RAWS rating jumped as TNA's went down I'd say it was more people wanted to see Cena v McMacmahon, rather than they didn't want to see Hogan.

It's not as good as I had hoped, but it's not the disaster TNAophobics are making it out to be, either. That they kept 90% of their usual audience all while going head-to-head with the WWE was nice. And while people talk about TNA putting out their A-game, let's not forget that this wasn't your typical RAW either, but a pre-Wrestlemania RAW which had advertised two major matches - Orton vs. Legacy and Cena vs. McMahon.
Once Austin's gone and Mania's over, I expect TNA will be drawing 1.1-1.3 on Monday nights.

Will this finally stop the spread of the idea that people will only watch wrestling on Mondays? Seriously, that's just stupid.

There is the overrun. Raw 3.98 Impact 1.01 Most of the Flair/AJ vs Hogan/Abyss was there. Didn't Impact run longer though?

Why are we only citing Hogan as the ratings killer? Turning AJ Styles into a ventriloquist dummy for Flair looks even worse than what they did to Abyss IMO, since it pretty much killed the whole point of the Styles/Sting matches AND destroyed what little personality Styles had.

Why don't they want to start at 8 again?
Going unopposed for an hour can make a world of difference.

Styles promos have been good with Flair. I don't see how he's destroyed. He's still doing the kick ass matches, but now has the charisma drive in Flair to help him.

i figured it would be higher, but they should look at it as a building process. Give us more matches like the X Division 3 way and I will keep tuning in.
Main thing is TNA doesn't need to panic. If they give us wrestling matches people will watch, if they try to maintain crash course tv each week without buidling then it could possibly go down.

Nobody has EVER gotten over doing an impersonation of another wrestler while that wrestler was their manager. All that it does is make Styles look like a bush league Flair. The sad thing is, Styles ain't Ted Jr. He was funny and charismatic in the comedy heel role in the Coalition stable. But seeing him desperately trying to imitate Flair just looks...wrong. Hogan's comment about Styles being "small" didn't help his cause.

Hey uh just thinking about it and I could be wrong here but. Dosn't the 3-whatever for Raw and 1.1 mean more people watched wrestling monday than last week? I like this post better than anything I've read on the whole WWE/TNA war so far. The big winner last night wasn't WWE. It wasn't TNA either. It was the wrestling fans. Raw doing the same rating it's been averaging over the past few years + TNA getting a million plus viewers means that, with the exception of January 4th, more people were watching wrestling last night than have been in a VERY long time. Almost 7 million viewers... NOT bad at all. If that keeps up, it's a total win situation for the fans because the more people that are watching, means that the more casual person may be inclined to tune in. That said, I'm sure TNA can't be happy that their 2nd most hyped TV show of all time did their lowest rating in quite some time. I know nobody expected them to beat Raw, but I also know when you increase expenses and expectations having a lower result is an out and out disappointment no matter how optimistic you want to be. Next week will be a pretty big indicator of how things will go. You'll have a taped Impact with 6 day old spoilers out there vs. a live Raw with one of the biggest draws of all time. IF TNA's rating improves next week, that is an AWESOME sign. If it drops significantly, well...... that won't be too good to put it nicely.

Didn't Impact run longer though? Yes. Once Raw went off the air, I switched back to Impact, and the match was just finishing. That's what I thought, which makes me think that most people did exactly what you did, watched the end of Raw then quickly switched to catch the end of Impact.

Hogan's comment about Styles being "small" didn't help his cause. But he's not copying Flair. He's being built up by Flair. It's not like with Shark Boy, since Flair is right there training him. AJ isn't all like Flair, and he still has his own style. Hell, Flair isn't the only Nature Boy, so it's fair.

No point in a headless chicken act from TNA or Spike, they're in this spot now for at least a few months (barring anything REALLY disasterous in the ratings) so they have to make the most of it.
The 18-34 male rating was actually up a bit for this Impact so, as you'd want them to, Spike are highlighting that and talking about growth and so on.
You can argue about whether they should've jumped to Monday yet or not, but fact is they have so now they need to work out have to get the best they can out of it.

Gee, there are a lot of new faces on the TNA board this week...
1.0 is not bad. It's something to build upon.

I was expecting a bit higher like a 1.3 HOWEVER I do think that TNA was hurt by back to back crap episodes leading into the Monday broadcast. So after 2 craptacular episodes and a change in time slot they managed to hold a 1.0.
All in all its disappointing but not tragic. I think next week that they will do a better rating 1.2ish because of the hype and good show lead in. Its going to take years for TNA to beat RAW so give them time.

I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking you because I'm not directly with this, but I am so sick and tired of the "Give them time" argument. In three months the ratings have gone from a 1.5 to a 0.98, the Genesis buyrate was rumored to be down and the main event of your biggest night did a 0.76. How much longer are we expected to wait before the rainbow appears? Because at the moment it doesn't look like it's coming any time soon
