I was 11 years old at that time, and I cried when Hulk Hogan turned heel. Hogan was like Superman in the wrestling business, a man with good ethics that fights bad guys. I never cared at the time about Hogan hogging the spotlight years ago in WCW, as I liked his matches with Ric Flair and Big Van Vader. When Hogan turned heel and joined up with Hall and Nash, I was confused since the latter 2 were huge name stars of the post-Hogan era. Later on, I went on the NWO bandwagon, as I loved the takeovers they do every week and their NWO type matches they show that is Black in White.

I was 8 years old at the time, still a huge Hulkamaniac, and my poor heart was broken by Hogan's nefarious actions. And I spent the next couple of years thinking Hogan was a stinky, poopy butthead heel, and waiting for the moment when Sting, along with Luger, the Giant, and company would lay waste to him and the whole nWo once and for all. And I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

I think I was 12 at the time. And a huge fan of Hall and Nash. When Hogan aligned with them, I marked.

I was too fond of Lex Luger being in the main event scene though.

When Hogan started walking down the aisle, I honestly thought to my 13-year-old self "Man, it'd be cool if Hogan became a bad guy right now."
But, of course, I thought he'd be that stale good guy character FOREVER. Then the leg drop hit...YEAH! MARK OUT CITY!
I still booed him and everything but now I loved to hate him instead of simply not caring about "The Huckster" (Yeah, the WWF parody at the time was pretty spot-on about my feelings towards Hogan and his stale, boring, corny old schtick).

I was a few months shy of turning 14 and immediately knew he was the 3rd man as he came out. It actually surprised me that more people didn't see it coming

I was 13 or so when he turned. I thought it was interesting, I wasn't too upset. I knew good guys became bad and what not, so it was just shocking.
I wasn't upset or happy or whatever.
It really was something to see, though. There's no one in the business today who could pull that off again.

I was 12 at the time, and I didn't watch the event, but I wanted to see Nitro the next night to see who the 3rd man was. At the time, even at the age of 12, I was amazing at predicting the outcomes of things ( I predicted that at WM12 Warrior was going to get hit with the pedigree and then get up from it immediately ), but never expected Hogan as the 3rd man. At that time, to me, it was a WW(F) takeover, and so I was absolutely sure that it was going to be Bret Hart. When I saw that it was Hogan, I was very surprised, and I was one of Hogan's biggest fans, but it actually didn't make much sense to me, and I figured that Bret Hart would have actually made more sense (this was in 1996 and Bret hadn't been on WWE tv for months). My younger brother even had a dream that the 3rd man was going to be Bret Hart, and so I thought that it was just going to be obvious.

I beleive i have related this story before, but i was 16 at the time and heard the news the next day on the school bus. I definately marked out. I never saw it coming. As a side note I think this was the first time they referred to Hall and Nash by name on tv. when my friend told me theire names i thought it was Haul (ala hauling a diesel truck) and Ash (for whatever reason i thought this was Hall's name) This in my 16 yr old mind made the tag team name: Haul N Ash. Yes like Haulin a$$. aww russo would of been proud.

I didnt take a bath for a week I haven't bathed since, but I digress. I was 10 at the time, and I remember saying "These guys are where it's at" after the legdrop. Even my pops was surprised that Hogan became "a bad guy", and he never has been much of a fan of wrestling, outside of watching it with me when I was that age.

I was 11 a life long Hulkamanic, and it made my Jaw drop, but then again being a WWE mark and a big Deasil and Razor Ramon fan I immediately loved the NWO so my shock went instantly to interest

I was 18 and wasn't really paying much attention to wrestling, but was kind of keeping up with what was going on. I thought it was fantastic when I heard about it and this really got me back into watching wrestling full time. I was completely into WCW until I started seeing/hearing about this guy Stone Cold Steve Austin. I still watched WCW mostly, but starting keeping back up with WWE.... around the beginning of '98 I was watching much more WWF than WCW, but would flip between both on Mondays all the way until the end. '97-'99 was such a great time to be a wrestling fan, IMO.

I want to say I was 6 maybe 7 and was a huge Hulkamaniac and I was more so shocked than anything. But I got use to the early NWO and liked them

Hulk Hogan is the reason I became a fan of wrestling in the first place. Being in the UK, we didn't get WCW PPV events, so I remember watching Nitro on a Friday evening, and Tony Schiavone kept making reference to Hulk Hogan's "dastardly actions at Bash at the Beach", with Larry Zbyzsko chiming in that "it was the most unmanly act I ever witnessed", so now they had me hooked as I was waiting to hear or see what Hulk did that was so bad, and when I found out, I was heartbroken. My hero i'd grown up with since I was 2 years old had turned his back on me.

I didn't get ppvs at the time so I found out from a chat on the old AOL WWF site. I didn't believe it at all and waited til the next night on Nitro. I honestly thought that he was gonna break away from them the first couple of weeks and say it was all a plan. Probably the most surprising turn ever in wrestling for me.

I was around 12 as well. I was watching live on PPV with my little brother. I remember we were both like "Yeah here comes Hulk!" and giving each other five, and then when he got in the ring right before he dropped the leg, I deflatedly said to my brother "He's gonna turn bad." Just as my brother said "What?" he dropped the leg. I'll never foget it. I was insulting the crap out of Hogan for the entire duration of the ensuing interview. It wasn't too long after though, that I jumped on the NWO bandwagon as well. I beleive i have related this story before, but i was 16 at the time and heard the news the next day on the school bus. I definately marked out. I never saw it coming. When the hero of my childhood Hulk Hogan told me to "stick it, Brother" I was shocked and saddened. I honestly thought that wcw had gone too far and that there was no way Hulk could be bad. I was wrong and later grew to love the nwo angle, wcw and defend it even now when people run it down
