I haven't gotten around to reading The Walking Dead but I've heard nothing but good things so I'm pretty psyched for the TV show. Prepare to stop watching the show if it gets to the third or fourth season. Not because it's bad, but by then they would do the governer arc and everyone would stop watching the show because it gets too depressing.

Watched Horror Express, a 70's European Horror film starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and Telly Savalas. Really enjoyed it despite the fact it possessed some mind breakingly bad moments at points. One moment was a bit of forced exposition where Lee tells an Inspector he is transporting a fossil and gets the reply, "What's a fossil?" It's available over on archive.org, a really great site for Public Domain work. It's part of my plan to start watching more Public Domain movies. Just because it's free doesn't mean it can't be entertaining. I love HORROR EXPRESS. It's not the greatest movie ever, but its a lot of fun. Telly Savalas steals the show, in my opinion. Although, any movie where the main female is a gorgeous redhead gets bonus points from me. ;D Indeed. The moment Savalas appears, he's dominating the screen with pure awesome. I liked how the moment he arrives, things kick into a higher gear. I especially liked how {Spoiler}The monster took on traits of those if brain drained (for lack of a better word). I was amazed to see a movie with Lee, Cushing, and Savalas in Public Domain, but I sure won't complain. Free good movies are always awesome. Just got done watching "The Bat" which stars Agnes Moorehead (Better known as Endora on Bewitched) and Vincent Price (Better known as Vincent Price). It's more of a mystery than a horror, but has a few horror aspects with the title masked villain "The Bat" stalking around terrorizing the inhabitants of a house that may have stolen money in it. I'm two for two for my PD viewing

Chiller TV. A relatively new American channel, I think. Frustrating in its endless editing and censoring. Rewarding in its ability to show me movies I've never seen that are a great mix of terrible and surprisingly effective. I'm watching Dead End right now. So far, I like it quite a bit.
Anyway, carry on with what you were doing. Or feel free to discuss. Just thought I'd share.
EDIT: Misspelled a word

The biggest redeeming factor is that it's the only place to see stuff like Freddy's Nightmares and Monsters. But if it's not a show, it's really not worth the time, sadly enough. I still wish the Horror Channel had gotten off the ground, if it weren't for the d-bags who conned the good folks of Dread Central and got everyone's hopes up about a proper channel.

It's not a bad channel, however, it is hard to cater to horror fans with basic cable limitations. Like watching Showgirls on TBS.

Has [REC]2 already been discussed to death? I saw it on HDMovies about a month ago or little less than that.
I enjoyed it for what it was, and completely ignored the fact that the world in the sequel was the same as the original. Far far far inferior to the original, but for a surprise little flick that I didn't even know was being made ... it was good entertainment for me on a late night.
(In short, yes, I know it sucked, but I'm not toooo hard to please when it comes to survival horror because I love the genre so much.)

Sorry andrew and peagus, I've neither seen the new Puppet Master (Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't that good) nor [REC]2 (Which I expect will get a quickie Americanized remake. Yay Quarantine 2!). I'm behind the times in copyrighted films.
Which reminds me, I've got my next Public Domain movie picked out and I'm pretty sure it'll end my streak of good PD movies. Mainly from this quote I found from the movie's star Christopher Lee:
"Some of the films I've been in I regret making. I got conned into making these pictures in almost every case by people who lied to me. Some years ago, I got a call from my producers saying that they were sending me a script and that five very distinguished American actors were also going to be in the film. Actors like José Ferrer', Dean Jagger, and John Carradine. So I thought "Well, that's all right by me". But it turned out it was a complete lie. Appropriately the film was called End Of The World."

And how was your vacation, TR? Eh, I won't bore everyone with that whole rundown. Suffice to say it was really awesome. There's so much stuff in Chicago that it's impossible to cram it all into even five days, and I finally got to actually SEE the place, as I've been there a few times for little more than a day at a time on several occasions before. *sheepishly* I liked part 6. I'll back ya up there, DSR. I love the hell out of Curse of the Puppet Master. Definitely not as good as the first three films, but definitely an enjoyable little film. The fate of the previous puppet builder is quite the disturbing scene.

This will get the horror thread back up and bumpin'. I present to you the SDCC footage of Piranha 3D sent to Bloody-Disgusting exclusively by an anonymous tipster. Luckily, the footage is on the BD server, so there's no worries (as of now) that it'll be taken down soon, but here you guys go nonetheless. WARNING: This isn't just one big spoiler (this is pretty much the "Spring Break" scene) but this is also one giant NOT SAFE FOR WORK link. There's some mild nudity and some minor language. Oh yeah, there's some violence here and there. Nothing too severe. Kidding. If you're a gorehound, this may quench your thirst for the next several months. It's that f***ing nuts. Edit: Sorry, man. The rules are against linking to graphic material, whether movie made or reality. Left your post so people who are interested could still go to bloodydigusting (who fit their name today)

I've said it before, but Piranha 3D looks 18 levels of awesome. Now if only Shimizu would listen to my demands and make Grudge 3D...WITH Takako Fuji, dammit. This guy will be going to the 3D incantations of both Piranha and The Ring in the hopes of ensuring that dream project comes to fruition.

Dear goodness... End of the World hurts. Really, really hurts. So, it has something to do with aliens with mind powers, but I really have no clue how to describe it. Although, I think I knew I was in trouble when the movie starts with a telephone exploding, a coffee maker exploding, and a guy sprinting across a diner and diving headfirst through a window because coffee got in his eyes. A completely rational effort, I'm sure. Insanely poor lighting leaves you watching a dark screen with hints of characters moving around in the distance. It's completely dreadful. It's like someone said "Uh-oh, Christopher Lee agreed to be in the movie! What can we sacrifice to pay his salary?" Mind-numbing driving scenes. We just watch people driving to a location. It shows them on the freeway. It shows them rounding a corner to a place we've already established. Seriously, if you've already been there once, you do NOT need to show the main couple taking a couple turns to get there. Just get on with it! The plot takes forever to get going and then they just vomit exposition in one scene. Exposition that makes absolutely no sense. I got the gist of what was happening, but that didn't help at all. The ending...is stupid. So...so...so...so...stupid. And yes. I would pause with each and every ellipses. It's that bad. {Spoiler}The main alien announces that they're destroying Earth because it has created so many viruses and caused so much pollution that it could hurt the rest of the universe (Hooray! A message!). So he steps through his "time warp" to go home, the main couple follows.
Earth Explodes. It's full of glitter. The sound of the explosion echoes IN SPACE as credits role. It was like someone extended a Twilight Zone episode. An abysmal, horrible, "Rod Serling would've never approved it but maybe if the executives pushed him hard by threatening cancellation he'd relent but ask for his name to not be on it" episode...but an episode just the same. Next time, I just trust what Christopher Lee says. I took notes during it. Re-reading it...I apparently lost my mind at one point because I don't remember writing such angry things in all caps.
