I still play WoW from time to time, but not as much as I used to. I hate what they've done with the changes to the system.

Beta tested Everquest for Mac, but my computer at the time was hopelessly far behind graphically so I never got the game.
Tried Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Online for about a year and a half. Started fun, but once you realized Disney had basically written one key story arc and had absolutely nothing set in stone to follow up on it, it was just wandering around, beating up on things and trying to type around a very tough language control.
On May 13th, out of sheer boredom, I tried the trial of WoW. That sucking sound you hear was me getting pulled in hook, line and sinker into the game. It's the only MMORPG I'm involved with right now and probably will remain that way unless/until I get a PS3 for Old Republic or DC Online, but those are very big maybes. I just find the quests and stories engrossing and, once in a while, you find some good people to play with, even if it's hard to find like minds. That's the true challenge for me.

I had to write a piece at uni comparing an MMORPG of my choice to WoW. So naturally, I chose Hello Kitty Online. It was awesome, and I ended up getting 18/20 on that paper ;D

I'm a Guild Wars player, I've played around with EQ2 and Warhammer Online but I've never played WoW properly.

Played WoW for awhile, one of the most fun games Ive ever played but I have now finally gotten tired of it. I also tried Age of Conan at release, a truly horrific experience.
Definately picking up The Old Republic, looking forward to that one.

paying for a game I bought already just so I can play it? No thanks. And there's my problem with them. I like them, but I only get the ones without a subscription fee (Guild Wars)

I played City Of Heroes for a few months before I got really bored, but I still watch my friend play WOW every now and then.

I tried Guild Wars and Pirates of the Carribean and just coudln't get into either of them. Been playing wow for about 2 years but I go in spurts where I slow down and am only online for a few minutes a week to a few hours a day.

To be fair though, the rest of the MMO gaming public forgot about AoC as well.

I can't do MMOs. On one hand, I love character building. On the other, I hate the feeling of futility I get from playing a game that was never designed to end. Being level 812 and finally learning Super Killdeath Fire just isn't enough for me. The inverse is actually one of my big problems with traditional RPG's. I love the genre, in fact, I have a shelf full of them, but it feels really futile to spend hours upon hours working on a sidequest to get the best gear in the game, then be at the point where the only enemy left to face is the final boss, who isn't even strong enough to require it. MMOs generally add new content to the game, which means you usually have a chance to use that really good gear you got.
