I wasn't watching the segment, but was Nikolai's singing of the Russian National Anthem piped in, or is his voice really still that strong? He didn't look like he'd still have a voice that solid.

I'm curious as to how expensive it was to put on last nights show as opposed to a regular Raw. I'm sure some aspects were cheaper.
For me personally, I wish the new stars had gimmicks like the old stars, because the Nexus just flat out bore me, most of the new generation of stars don't even look interesting to me.
One thing I did disagree with was after hearing Lord Alfred's voice (which was fantastic!) They decided to just imitate him and keep that going throughout that bit and I don't think they should have done that at all.
One thing that coulda been cool is to remake an old LJN commercial with new wrestlers busting in a house while kids play with their action figures.

Mike Chioda in a wig = win. Picture in picture promos = must come back. Dusty Rhodes is his own solar system, instead of a gravity field he has some sort of "Weird attracts weird" that is apparently genetic.... (ok, that wasn't subtle at all) Handheld guys in the blue jumpsuits was kinda cool Slick and R-truth should have come out together for a musical number I know it wasn't a first-season raw thing, but I would have died laughing to see Blueblood HHH or HBK in one of his early tiger-stripe outfits. Too bad Taker's hurt, we could have seen the tie and spats......

The WWF control room! I marked so hard seeing Mean Gene standing in front of that monitor bank when they did the old school apparell commercial, and for that matter the intro to the show...I had no idea how much I missed the old saxophone theme music until they played it last night... and I know I wasn't the only one marking for Vince's powder blue suits when they mentioned them.
Best bit of the night though? The ref trying to stop George Steele from eating the turnbuckle,I hadn't seen the Animal in years and THAT was just brilliant comedy imho.

He was saying "and hailing from..." not 'unhailing'. Unhailing isn't a word, as much as I wish it was.

Am I the only one that caught Goldust saying, "Come on, help a brother out." after Cody Rhodes refused to give him any grooming tips?

It was pretty funny the way that the word "cholesterol" was emphasized by Alberto.

I know it's not to do with old school-ness, but the Uso who was in the ring's face when Kozlov got booted was hilarious! He turns around, looks as Kozlov, then at Sheamus & is like "Oh s***!"
Also, I wanted Arn to Spinebuster Sheamus & for R-Truth to come out to "Gettin' Rowdy!"

It was actually kind of surreal I thought. When Orton and Cena were being seperated it was like there had been a time paradox or something and they had been thrown back to the 80s.
I kind of hope they are making this a yearly thing.
I won't lie by the way. I marked out to the old school Sexual Chocolate theme

Also loved all the officials piling in to separate Orton and Cena, man I hadn't realised how much I missed that!

Daniel Bryan wearing a King of the Ring shirt...I'm guessing because Regal is the current reigning KotR.

I have to say, I adored Raw last night. I have to go back and watch it a few more times to catch everything. I wish WWE would realize how well certain aspects of the show (Interview stage, officials separating the brawls, PIP promos, old school ring announcing) and implement them into the current product.
Last night, I felt like I was watching a real, true, honest to Jay-Z episode of WWF Monday Night Raw and I loved it.

During the dance party skit when Cody walked up I noticed the interview area in the background with a few members of Nexus and Slaughter.

I'm just glad that Bob Orton still has the cast going on like 25 years later.
