So for fellow writers/cartoonists/whatevers, which ones have you found yourself unconsciously utilizing?
- Heroic BSOD - Exactly What It Says On The Tin - Manly Tears - Mega Corp - We Want Our Jerk Back - Cloudcuckoolander - Rich Bitch - Angst What Angst - Church Of Happyology - Does This Remind You Of Anything - Kid Hero

I've never actually searched TVTropes and applied it to anything I've written or sketched up, but I wouldn't mind utilizing "The Dragon" more than I do.
That's a fun villain type to work with, but its hard to use effectively without turning him/her into a hero.

Mary Sue. Just about everything I've ever written has a Mary Sue in it. It's the easiest thing in the world to fall into.

Pretty much any trope that has to do with Superheroes and/or Government Conspiracies.

I'm in the process of writting a comic book and so far here are the tropes I've been working with (unconsciously or otherwise): Person of Mass Destruction Hermetic Science Humongous Mecha (a few, most notably a giant pig-like pink robot for randomness) My Greatest Failure Failure Hero Glory Seeker Cryptic Background Reference Creator Cameo (as a pantless dead body ) Monster Mash Reference Overdose (working on that) Lovecraftian Superpower Light the way Shock and Awe Morality Pet Ham to Ham Combat Last Villain Stand Stoners are Funny Survived the Beginning Secret Diary (used as a framing device for a flashback) And so on.

Believe it or not, I wrote a Daria version of Rat Race earlier in the year. These are the main tropes I ended up using...
*All Star Cast *A McGuffin Full of Money *Berserk Button *Crash Course Landing *Eccentric Millionaire *Epic Race *Final Speech *Hey It's That Guy *Sweet and Sour Grapes *The Alleged Plane *Those Wacky Nazis *Wealthy Ever After
