...every time I listen to it. I love the album like nobody's business, but it's uncanny. I think a lot of it has to do with being older and more world-weary (well, as much as one can be at 22) than I was when I first heard it in high school, or at least more able to appreciate the depth of the album.
Seriously, if I listen to the album straight through, I have to keep myself from tearing up at the end of Brain Damage/Eclipse. Eclipse especially reads like a depressing prayer.

Considering that everyone I hung out with when I first heard that album in high school is now either dead, in jail, or living hundreds of miles away...yeah. You aren't kidding.

I have a theory that eventually everyone becomes depressed by DSOTM and then eventually accepts it and begins to enjoy it again. The same thing happened to me when I was around 22 or so. "Time" will mess with your head if you let it.
