If ever there was a great choice for GSG's Dumb answer of the week, this is it.
I'll give him credit, he knows a lot about the Post-it note. But not what was made before it apparently.

Nah, another couple lost a bit more by not knowing Jon Stewart was the most trusted news anchor in America. I think they lost it all on that, that or what the most common password was. I forget.

Turns out there is a bit of controversy with this question. Despite the question not being worded this way, it was meant to only include when those three inventions were sold nationally.
The reason this has caused controversy is because Post-Its WERE sold before the Walkman, in test markets in 1977.
So from the basic, and vague question, which of the following appeared in stores first, Post-Its would technically be the winner, because it did show up in stores the earliest. But of course FOX meant for the question to be which showed up in stores nation wide first, which would in fact be the Walkman.
As a result of the f*** up, FOX has invited these two back for another shot.
Though to be technical, either way the guy was wrong as during the test market phase, Post-Its were called Peel-and-Press. So technically, it was two different items.

Actually the couple that got this question wrong were the ones that got the Jon Stewart one wrong as well. It was their final question 7 out of 7, they only had $20 K left by that point, and lost their $20 K. The white couple after them lost all their money on the "most common password" question.

I watched this terrible show and seen this episode, I went to Wiki to look at answers (it takes 10 minutes it seems between the question and answer, I was getting impatient) and noticed the answer seemed wrong. I didn't think there was any possible way it could get to air time and have it be wrong so I assumed Wiki led me astray. :-\ Part of me isn't shocked to see they just legit f***ed up at the show.
Did I mention how bad this show is? Damn near unwatchable.
Really what pisses me off most about this story is that the show is giving the couple another chance to win money rather than just making it up to em and handing them a large lump sum. The show messed up, and really no game show has the right to have their own questions have the wrong answer listed as the correct one. Simply inexcusable.

My problem with the show is they only have 7 questions, so they SOMEHOW have to pad 7 f***ing questions into 1 hour.....

I watched both and couldn't keep it all straight. Thanks.

Just to clarify why this is a news story as most everyone seems to be making fun of these two for wasting 800,000, this couple had the RIGHT answer. The gameshow was wrong. Since this has aired people realized the shows mistake and it became a bit of an uproar so the powers that be for the show have contacted the couple and are giving them a chance to play the game again. f***ing inexcusable for this to have made air.

Well, now that I'm more educated on this whole situation, I gotta say this was pretty messed up of Fox.

I know I say this every time Fox comes out with another stupid reality/game show:
All that wasted money could have been used to make another "Man vs. Beast"!

The second couple was worse. The Wife knew what dress Julia Roberts wore to win her Oscar. Otherwise, that was about it. The husband took control. I thought they were about to get divorced on the question about injuries on the 4th of July and sparklers. Though to be fair, some of those questions were tough. Yahoo! Canada is running the story, however, it quotes a producer as saying the couple IS NOT coming back. Couple loses $800,000 on game show mistake

Yeah, I didn't think it was a dumb answer since the two came out about the same time. And they were cheated out of the answer anyways, which they technically got right.
