Anyone played the recently re-released version of Dayton which is now called Sega Racing Classic? Honestly all I ever played outside the arcade was the 2001 version for the Dreamcast. That was actually damn fun, even if the control was weird (it was very rigid...thats about the best way I can describe it. The cars don't control smooth at all). The new courses were awesome too, and some of the music was actually awesome in a good way, instead of campy (the original tunes were still there, including some remixes of the tunes for the mirrored and backwards versions of the classic courses). I always thought it was weird the song from the Expert course never caught on, the one about how the guy caught a frog sky high. I'd look for it on youtube but my speakers are on the fritz.

Dammit! Now I feel the urge to pull my Sega Saturn out of mothballs and see if it still works so I can play this damn game ...

Eh, I grew up with this:
"Yeah, yeah! Vroom, vroom!" is way more tolerable than "DaytonaAAAAAA".

This combined with the game's "horse" code was quite amusing.

Eh, I grew up with this: "Yeah, yeah! Vroom, vroom!" is way more tolerable than "DaytonaAAAAAA". NONE of those games have aged well. They were always okay, it was hard for me to put it over Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing. Now the Rush series...goodnight ladies. Rush 2 at least was classic, and 2049 is easily in my top 5 favorite N64 games.
