I'm a math teacher, so I'm quite fond of the subject.
It doesn't really bother me when people say they don't like math. One of my profs in university told me "Don't take it personally when people say they hate math. Otherwise you won't have many friends."

I got mad skills in math and algebra, and I don't study for it, ha ha ha! Example of my greatness: in class, everyone's told to bring a calculator. Half the time I keep forgetting it, and I still finish faster than anyone and still get near perfect scores.

Do I know what math can do? Yes sir I do. It can cause me to not get a college degree. You're not the only one. Four years, Four freakin' years of my life I'll never get back and forced me to drop out of College despite having good grades in everything else cause I couldn't understand algebra, a worthless subject that I spit on the grave of the person who invented it and decided it was mandatory. Yup, I have good grades and an assload of credits, but it all means shit since I can barely even pass the remedial math I have to take.

Here's the thing. I f***ing hate all forms of mathematics, yet, I'm just naturally good at math. Here's how good I am at math, in my college algebra class, I got a B....and I never opened the f***ing textbook. I was able to solve everything by myself, without even trying. I didn't even give a f*** about the class, and I still got a B in it. Did you have one of these helping you out? Just about all science classes (maybe with the exception of biology) involve math because math is a science in itself.

well being in a computer science/electronics major, I have learned to accept math into my life. I dispised it in high school but actually enjoy it and am doing well in math.

Not a big math fan, but i can say it wasnt the worst class i ever took. That would be the "study classes" in college. Not study HALL, but classes where they taught you how to study. INCREDIBLY BORING.

I feel your pain, there are those in the education department who feel the same way about the topic in that it is a major waste of time beyond Algebra. Anything beyond only benefits <2% of the population yet schools continue to force students to take a higher form of mathematics.
Interesting tidbit, but the whole High School curriculum of English, Math, History, Science, etc was created about 102 years ago by a group of scholars who wanted to sell their books, yes, the basic HS schedule was created to sell books.

Well considering the new math book I had to get in my third year of college cost more by itself than the books I got in my first year combined, they got themselves plenty of my money.

I'm good at math, but I hate the complex problems that you are "tested" with where you are confused about order of operations.
