I thought they found what were probably her remains in the early 1940's.

Cracked said so a couple months back.
I just found it hilarious it's either her or a turtle.

Maybe it's both Amelia Earhart and a Turtle. A mutant ninja turtle.

"Other theories over the years have suggested Earhart was eaten by cannibals on Howland Island, captured by the Japanese as a spy and that she returned to the United States after a secret mission and assumed a new identity."

'Unsolved Mysteries' did a terrific segment on it. Among theories discussed, they interviewed a woman who claimed to see Earhart executed by the Japanese

Or it could be Noonan, who was flying with her. All depends on if we can get good DNA from the bones and, given the age and exposure, that's a maybe. That being said, I would like to finally close this case in history. Just wish we knew what actually happened to cause the plane to crash and what happened after the crash.

Personally I think she assumed the identity of a turtle, returned to the U.S. on a secret mission, and then was later eaten by a Japanese guy.

Three bone fragments of a finger, and people think it's Amelia Earhart?
Let's not jump to conclusions, people.

That being said, I would like to finally close this case in history. Just wish we knew what actually happened to cause the plane to crash and what happened after the crash. She ended up on a mysterious island, had a daughter, sent out radio signals. Forgot her name and who she was, thought she was French.

'Unsolved Mysteries' did a terrific segment on it. Among theories discussed, they interviewed a woman who claimed to see Earhart executed by the Japanese And they also interviewed a former US GI who claimed to have heard other soldiers talk about finding Amelia Earhart's plane before another officer told them to shut up and even saw someone flying it before finally seeing it in flames all in one day on the island of Saipan.

I thought Amelia Earhart landed on The Island and became one of The Others. If not, then who the hell was that old lady in Juliet's book club!?
