These two are my favourite wrestlers of all time because they each had insane charisma, great characters, the look, entertaining matches etc etc. They just had it.
Anyway I really get the impression that Austin really hates Hulk.
He didnt want to wrestle him at WM18. Was it because of the finish? Was one one scared of being outpopped by the other? Austin has said many times he doesnt think it would have been a good match, and also turned down offers from Vince to wrestle Hulk at a few subsequent Wrestlemanias.
He said on Twitter something along the lines of "Hogan is on TV, changing the channel".
The Steveamania thing.
Just look at Austins face the few times he is shown at Hulk's HOF induction. Also when Austin owned Hogan at Bret Hart's induction "Can of whoopass with Hulk Hogan's name on it". Hulk didnt look happy about that either.
Was it because of Austins run in WCW, where he was held down? (Which he talked about in the Steveamania parody) I remember hearing he wasnt happy having to be squashed by Jim Duggan for the US title (or some title, can't remember exactly) and it had something to do with Hogan?
He also seemed really unhappy and uninspired when Hogan and the NWO came in to WWE in 2002.
I don't understand why Austin would hold onto that hate, bearing in mind that he went onto become one of the most succesful wrestlers of all time. Probably top 3, with Hulk and maybe Rock.
I guess he is a guy that holds grudges, if you remember the Jarret fued he didn't want to do. He did say recently on Twitter that he doesn't hate Jeff Jarrett (paraphrasing- cant remember what was exactly said)
Thoughts?

Story is Hogan refused to work with Austin when in WCW and then Hogan on the WWE Homecoming special "issued a challenge" to Austin for Mania without talking to Austin or anyone about it and that killed any chance of it.
As for Mania 18, he was offered his choice of nWo guys to face and choose Hall as he could wrestle better and Austin knew he was on the decline and needed the help to make it a WM level match.

I'm guessing it's for the same reason he doesn't like Bischoff. He was held down in WCW because Bischoff didn't see him as a star, then went and became one in the WWE. Hogan is Bischoff's boy, so maybe it's hatred by association.

Hogan is Bischoff's boy, so maybe it's hatred by association. Austin said in his book how he shook hands with Bischoff (in 2003 before his last in ring run) and said things were cool and was looking forward to their angle.

the same reason why Jesse Ventura, Paul Orndoff, and Dr. David Shultz hate Hogan, pure jealously Do you think Austin hates him because Austin is (in my opinion) the 2nd biggest wrestler of all time and was never the biggest wrestler of all time- Hulk Hogan.

the same reason why Jesse Ventura, Paul Orndoff, and Dr. David Shultz hate Hogan, pure jealously I doubt he's jealous at all. Austin was just as big or even bigger than Hogan at his peak in the late 90's (though admittedly for a lesser amount of time). I think it's mostly due to the way he was treated after Hogan came into WCW and had his buddies pushed over younger guys like Austin.

Not to mention Austin has been able to move on from wrestling, keep his money and, have a film career. I don't say that a shot at Hogan but, more of a "Austin has done all of this successful which Hogan has or hasn't done"

Austin only ever did guest apperances on tv shows and they were more successful then the shows Hogan had when he was the star.(Thunder In Paradise) Same with movies. Austin's film roles have been alot more high profile then any of Hogans ever were plus Austin was in one of the most profitable movies this summer. Hogan can't say that.

I think Austin knew that Hogan would be a pain in the ass to work with and would say "Ok steve, i win first THEN you win" and then not do a rematch, ala Shawn Michaels in 2005.

Definitely not jealousy.
In his ECW shoot Austin mentions that Hogan was the biggest thing in Wrestling history, then impersonated his voice and said that in essence, Hogan, Dusty and various others held him down.

Again I ask, what of Hogan's does he need to be jealous of? I'm tempted to say hair but I think they're equal at this point.

He's probably just upset that Hogan used his position and pull to avoid doing jobs and never have any backlash against him....wait....
