I hate Facebook for the following reasons, this is pretty much me ranting.
1. 'Likes' - This is just damn stupid, and another way to make a damn fool of yourself, having your face on a board of other idiots who like a certain band, movie, show or whatever. Now it even seems like people click like on pretty much everything, like stupid websites and stuff. Give it a damn rest, we don't give a damn if you like 'MP3-Converter.org' or some stupid crap like that.
2. Trying to be funny - Nobody can be honest or serious on facebook, everything a 'one liner of the day' followed up by other idiots who completely change their personality to follow up to the 'hilarious' comment. It's ok once in a while, but it gets annoying seeing it every day.
3. Insane friend count - you know how many friends I have on FB? 27! I maybe know 17 of them well in real life, and the rest added me because I went to school or work with them and never even gave a damn about me back then. I guess you should add your friend's parents and family, since you met them that one time and want them to hear your updates about eating bloody ice cream and rediculous crap.
4. Pictures - Why do people need 500 photos of them posing in their chair? take a picture of something meaningful, and not at some insane giant eyed, small chinned anime girl angle with some obscured filter over it.
I log into facebook every day, but if there's no messages, I click off it, I have no idea who would be obsessed with themself and their friends so much to view every photo and post they've made all day.
Agree with me or not, I don't care.

Then one of my best friends finally convinced me to give it a try. Within a week, I met up with people I hadn't talked to in over a decade. Old high school classmates from Texas and New York who happened to be in Arizona at the time. It was a cool nostalgic trip and gave us a reason to smile. Does that mean I'm blood brothers with those guys? No. Times have changed and I have a set group of best friends. But what I learned was Facebook helped me reconnect with part of my past. I can't speak for MySpace or Twitter, because as much as I like FB, one social networking site is enough for me.

LOL. The like stuff gets out of control, especially the ones who like their own status. You liked it well enough to post it, do you have to "like it" on top of that? Ive got 376...friends or so, I think that's the count. But it's a legit friend count, about 60% of them are from school, the rest are friends/coworkers/fellow crappers.

I log on for about 5 minutes a month on it. I don't really pay attention to my account much aside from remembering old friends and trying to look them up.

you shouldn't, its stupid. You know how I know?
I just spent Christmas at my parents house. My mom, along with all my aunts and uncles (and my grandma), spent a good chunk of the evening talking about their facebook pages.
Sorry guys, gotta go.

I dislike FB too. I keep mine open for business reasons but I come close to deleting the dang thing every time I see another post about farmville, slumville, or whatever other stupid 'ville they like to waste their time with on that horrid site.

I like Facebook. It's a good way for me to keep up with people I haven't seen in a while because they moved away or whatever. I only add people that I actually know though. If someone sends me a request and I don't know them,I just ignore it. As for liking bands,tv shows, etc. on there,it's just a good way to keep up on behind the scene stuff or if a band you like has a new album coming out. For example,I like the show Fringe and they post behind the scenes stuff on there and I like watching that stuff. It may not be for everyone but I enjoy it. And some stores will promote stuff on there. I know Lowe's for example offers coupons from time to time on there if you like them. I used to work at Lowe's and I know they would offer some good deals for fans on there. And about the Farmville stuff, you can hide those if you don't want to see them. There is a hide option. I use that option because a lot of my friends played it and it was taking a lot of my main page. I have no problems at all with people who play those apps though. If they enjoy it,I say play it all day if you want.

There's nothing wrong with Facebook in my eyes. It's an easy way to keep in contact with a lot of my friends who I don't live near anymore, or even people that I don't hang out with all that often.
I don't understand the point of using it if you don't like it, but whatever floats your boat, man.

I've found it handy since moving away from home, it makes keeping in touch with family and friends easier, and keeps me up to date on the happenings and goings on back home too through status updates, wall posts and photos.

The one drawback is that some use it as the only means of communicating, as if the phone has been rendered useless for them. I was suppose to go out with a group of friends two weeks back, didn't get a call, figured it was canceled. Next day, they tell me they had sent me a PM through Facebook. Because a simple 2 minute phone conversation would have been too much?

If you don't give a damn, then don't. Some of us like it. That's how things go.

I balked at getting a page for a long time, then I started playing a stupid FB game. But it's okay, as it allows me to keep in contact with people I haven't seen for a long time. And I have some interaction with some MMA fighters, which is cool.

Yeah I can't stand or don't get Facebook. Twitter yes, Facebook no. I'm the exact opposite. I think Twitter has got to be the most useless thing the internet has created, and that's saying a lot.

What use is Twitter? It is one function of Facebook but standing alone. Anyone care to explain?

I use Twitter...it's a little more liberating than Facebook. I tweet several times a day about stuff I normally wouldn't put on Facebook.
