Just delete it if it angers you so much. Facebook hardly seems like something you need to be this annoyed about...

I dislike FB too. I keep mine open for business reasons but I come close to deleting the dang thing every time I see another post about farmville, slumville, or whatever other stupid 'ville they like to waste their time with on that horrid site. Anytime I see that in the news feed or find anyone on my friends list that are posting annoying things I just hide it. Hiding posts by people and apps is probably one of the best features about Facebook.

I avoided social-networking sites for the longest time. My mom and brother are on Facebook and kept pestering me to set up an account. Earlier this year I finally cracked and set up an account.
I mostly use it to keep up with the goings-on of my favorite companies (Disney, WWE, and so on). It was through Consol Energy Center's page that I found out about WWE's first event at the new arena: last night's SmackDown house show.
And as luck would have it, I was on Facebook last night and found out that RAW is coming to the CEC in March. I bought my ticket this morning.
So I think Facebook can serve a purpose, but it's not the be-all end-all of life. Or shouldn't be, anyway.

Hiding posts by people and apps is probably one of the best features about Facebook. Exactly, I have about 400 "friends", yet just about 80 people I actually have on the news feed wall and have all the games hidden, I don't get why people complain so much about the games, its very easy to block em both in the news and invites. I like facebook cause its an easy way to find about local wrestling cards, concerts and friends parties, Id much rather get that stuff on the fb events than as some email I wont bother to open. I can keep in touch with people on my own time when im bored and have nothing bether to do. its gotten me laid, like with zero effort on my part, and that is f***ing amazing. it has actual fun games in it, a lot of horrible stuff like farmville too, sure, but hey more power to whoever likes that crappy time waster. I was gonna write more but f it, its not like the op wants to be convinced otherwise, writing about facebook being good is a bigger waste of time than actually being on fb...

If I ever used Twitter, it would be to get breaking news from ESPN or other sites/reporters.
Other than that, I find it useless....oh, and as for those who complain about people who brag about their facebook friends list....there's a girl at my job who is constantly like, "I have 1000 followers on Twitter!" like she just discovered fire.

I use twitter just to read the feeds. Sometimes I reply but I get ignored. I think Samoa Joe fears me in all reality.
If you don't like facebook, don't use it, and block anything you don't like. I like it because I can keep up with old friends and people I like but don't really have the time to hang out with.

Because those things are worse than the bloody highlander ;D. In all seriousness though, if you hate facebook so much, you should just deactivate the account like Lennon says.

It annoys me for a couple of reasons. The first is that it has become next to impossible to have real communication with some people. I hate spending Christmas holidays with people who are constantly checking their Facebook pages. Here's a thought--we see each other twice a year. Why are you spending the time together catching up on what a casual acquaintance from high school, with whom you lost touch for a decade (if you can even call it losing touch, since you spoke with him three times at most in the five years you went to school together), is up to these days? Who the hell cares if Andrew Schultz is planning a trip to the Dominican Republic? Was checking your Facebook page from the other side of the state really worth the cost of the plane ticket?
The other reason is that people expect that everybody is on Facebook. I had a high school reunion a few years ago. Invitations were Facebook-only. Much of the grad class just wasn't invited, because the organizers assumed that getting in touch with their friends on Facebook and telling them to get in touch with their friends on Facebook was sufficient.

Settle down; have some dip. If you don't dig it, then don't use it. Simple as that, sir. Live and let live, and all that jazz...

If it wasn't for FB I would have never met some really awesome friends who I'm in the better for for having met them. And I lost contact with my family for roughly 11 years. it was finally through Facebook that they found me again.

If you like/don't like FB, watch "The Social Network" and reconsider your position. I know people who have either gotten hooked on FB or have sworn it off completely after viewing that flick, no lie.

Personally, I use it to talk to chicks and make jokes with my friends in a public forum. It serves it's purpose there. It's also an easy way to contact people that I don't talk to on a regular basis if I need something.

I used to hate on FB, till I gave it a try and it helped me reconnect with old friends, find new things to do like where parties are, stay in touch with longer distance friends and family, and get to know people who would have otherwise stayed casual acquaintances better.
EDIT: After reading Efren's post I so need to use it to get laid. Red Deadpool needs lay badly.

I use my facebook (link found in my sig for those who are interested) to make up for my lack of self confidence in real life. If I feel like I am popular on the internet, maybe my real life won't suck as much.
Yes, my name is Matt Hardy, why do you ask?

It's a really great place to masturbate to ex-girlfriends, and allows one the privacy not usually allotted via the ladder pressed up against their bedroom window.
And I like it because I am on there, and I'm kinda awesome.

Facebook is ok. The one thing I do like about it is that it has allowed me to connect to people from my past that I wouldn't be able to talk to again if it didn't exist. For that reason I like it. It's annoying as hell sometimes, but it's such a minor annoyance compared to the rest of the world's annoyances that it's no big deal for me.
There are a lot of show-offs and goody two-shoes on it though.
Edit: Another thing that's bothers me: why do parents have to post "cute" things their kids say or do all the time? Do they cease to exist once their child is born? Do they not have lives and opinions and such? They all have this need to "out-cute" each other on FB. MY child is funnier than YOUR child. Whatever.

Im bored so Ill continue my 'left it to go cook supper' post...
Ive met some really cool friends there, including one of my closest friends thats my most trusted confidant(well I actually met her on Myspace before FB was cool and MS sucked, but its the same shit). Ive met a lot of casual friends, people I now say hi and have casual conversations wile in wrestling shows mostly that make those outings more enjoyable or gotten closer to ones ive met in person.
Despite it seeming a bit stalker-ish to ask for an invitation to be able to see all their pics and such its actually a much less invasive way to start approaching a girl(or dude if thats your case) you've recently met, than say calling them on the phone or chatting them up on msn or to a smaller degree texting them, thats just much more invasive since you are basically forcing them to give you their time despite possibly not being interested or instead being very rude to you, traditional emails aren't but there is just something super dull and dorik-ish about emails as opposed of just signing a quick message on their wall or new picture...
New dude friends you just met, now thats helpful. Starting to approach a girl tru phone or msn is a wee bit invasive and its easier to do it tru fb nowadays that thats an option, but its something still very naturally done for ages and ages, approaching a dude you might ve met at a party or such and felt was was cool or fun tru a phone call its just plain weird, before these medium you just shrugged it off and resigned for that guy to never be your friend and just a guy you once met, now a days adding as a social network friend one of this fellas can lead to great friendships, thats just awesome, heck ill use the word bromance just for the f*** of it...
Ill expand on the gotten me laid with almost no effort, Hi Deadpool my favorite Marvel character btw, way more so than at a club/bar or any other place totally random girls or friends of friends that don't really know you will just approach you very casually wanting to be "friends" if they find you interesting attractive, if you get added by a girl you don't know that often means she finds you attractive or interesting at least a bit, and like GI Joe would say, "Knowing its half the battle", if a girl added you you can approach her with much more confidence than just some girl you are the one attracted to but don't know how she would feel, so its just plain easier so if you play your cards right, a relationship or sex can almost fall at your lap.
Silly low fi games are just way more fun there, I used to love bejeweled on my comp, but bejeweled for fb is just plain addictive since you want to get a higher score than your friends, And my personal favorite Metro Games' Music Challenge where I have the highest score of all my friends and I can brag about my vast music knowledge would be really boring if I wasn't going against other peeps.

What bugs me about facebook is how the way other people choose to spend their free time will actually effect their mood.
don't like the "like" option? turn it off don't like pics? don't comment on them don't like my status? don't read it
I wish my life was simple enough to actually care how people choose to use social networking sites.

Pretty much this on all accounts, people need to realise that you can block feeds from useless friends talking about Farmville over and over again My facebook's crammed with girls who are all "I R SAD, NEED SYMPATHY PLOX", I retaliate via trollin'
