another person it could be is Helena Bonham Carter. Harry Potter + Alice in Wonderland. Yes. Here's the shocker, though. #2 . . . MICHAEL KEATON!!!!!

No, it's Helena.
And frankly, Michael Keaton was more important to TS3 than HBC was to HP7.
HP8 is where she will matter.

Although I guessed at Helena Bonham Carter, I thought for a person to be the official "biggest star of the year" they had to have had a lead role in a film for it to be counted.
I don't recall Christopher Lee being in the chart when he was in Star Wars and Lord of the Rings films earlier this decade.

Yes. Here's the shocker, though. #2 . . . MICHAEL KEATON!!!!! The Other Guys? I knew it was a decent sized hit, didn't know it was that big. Helena Bonham Carter: Alice in Wonderland $334,191,110 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 $275,792,000 The King's Speech $11,621,809 Total So Far: $621,604,919 Michael Keaton : Toy Story 3 $415,004,880 The Other Guys $119,219,978 Total : $534,224,858 Although I guessed at Helena Bonham Carter, I thought for a person to be the official "biggest star of the year" they had to have had a lead role in a film for it to be counted. It's that guy from Inception who had to pee. He was also in Avatar.

Really, as long as you're a main cast member, it counts. Looking at the website that collates these lists, they don't include Christopher Lee in their list for 2002. Considering he was in the 2nd and 3rd biggest grossing films of that year, then he should be in the list. But as he wasn't a lead in either of them, they didn't count him. Shame really. So when the "official" result is published, don't be surprised to see someone instead of Carter sitting atop the list. Also, you're only listing US grosses. Don't know if it would make any difference but Toy Story 3 has cleared a billion dollars worldwide.

You're All wrong, its Kristen Schaal. She was in Toy Story 3, Shrek Forever After, Get him to the Greek, When in Rome, Valentine's Day, Dinner for Schmucks and Going the Distance.
Winner!

I'm gonna say Danny Trejo. I don't think it's right but he did have Predators and Machete. Plus, it's Danny Trejo.

Mark Strong has to be up there, just by default in being the bad guy in virtually every movie being made these days.
