Ugh, Maus is in the house...ugh. I will admit Alan Moore singing Little Lulu makes me chuckle every time. Was that the ep that had Watchmen Babies?

Plus, something that is actually worse than "Rover Hendrix": I got a few more, but I wanna hear your choices. I don't see how it's that bad. It reminds me of this from season 3 Well, with that bit, it was obviously set up as a cliffhanger for the next act (with the joke following through with a cheesy one-liner in the form of "Act II: Death Drives a Stick", and the resolution that Snake actually got thrown out of his car's window without even getting close to Bart). The problem I have with the one from "Midnight Towboy" is that it essentially came out of nowhere, and it would've probably worked better had it simply just shown Homer being clubbed with a wrench without that caption. Add to the fact that an aspect of the episode (the fact that Homer had a stranglehold on vehicles in the town) was never resolved, and throw in a random mismash of oddities, like ships and trains actually getting onto the streets, makes it a "bottom caliber" episode in my mind. I do agree with you on the bit from "Another Simpsons Clip Show". Personally, the only good clip show episode was "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular", since they put a lot of effort into that and looked like they were having fun with it.

I actually liked the first clip show. Mostly due to the fact that it doesn't even become a clip show until act II.
And this classic gem

And this classic gem "You couldn't fool your mother on the fooling-est day of your life without an electrified fooling machine."I did like the way they approached that one, and also it was titled "So It Has Come to This... A Simpsons Clip Show". But, most of the others follow the cookie-cutter strucutre.

I know we've complained a lot about post-season 11 episodes already, but I thought of another one that needs to be mentioned.
Season 20's "No Loan Again, Naturally"
The Simpsons lose their house, and Ned Flanders buys it so that he can rent it to them (for whatever they can afford until their financial situation improves). Almost immediately, every member of the family turns into a complete asshole, complaining to Ned about every minor problem and then going to the media to complain about their terrible landlord (Flanders).
I couldn't get past the huge character change, especially in Marge. Far from trying to talk sense into Homer (unlike episodes like "Pray Anything," where she was the voice of reason trying to convince Homer not to sue the church), she is as bad as anyone else.
When every member of the family is beneath contempt, it's just not enjoyable. You just end up hating them, and any happy resolution is unfulfilling because it is so undeserved.
