I can't stand them and I hope the Patriots, who imo are tolerable, beats them in the playoffs and prevents them from going to the SB. I don't want the Steelers ruining another Superbowl with the biased refs. Isn't it funny how every controversial Superbowl in recent memory comes from the ones Pittsburgh won.
Also, I think their fanbase has the biggest bandwagons in Sports. I think it's much more than the Cowboys. I live in Columbus and it is ridiculous how many Steelers fans are in this city. I bet most of them never lived in Pittsburgh. How the hell can you be an Ohio State fan and a Steelers fan?
And that ends my rant, agree?

I don't care for Roethlisberger, but I like the Steelers as an organization. I love the way they play defense and the Rooneys as owners are class acts all the way. Pittsburgh IMO is also one of the more loyal and honest fanbases. And I'm not talking about the fairweather fans. I know a couple of Steelers fans who have loved the team through good times and bad, but also aren't afraid to speak their minds (see: Big Ben). The only NFL fanbase I think outweighs them in that sort of "one big happy family" way is Green Bay's.

Well umm I'm English and a 'to the death!' Packer fan but I can see even in England fanbases, that their are loads of Steelers fans. Heck Sky Sports has a presenter who is a huge Steeler fan, though Nick Halling is great.
I think in Britain it goes....Dolphins/49ers/Steelers and Patriots in terms of fans.
Then again I don't know about living in a city (sorry, State) that does have a team, yet the residents support another team. That must sting.

I think with even fans and locals owning stock really helped build that imagine.

Hate their guts. Troy Polamalu is maybe the only player on that team I respect and have a great deal of like for. Hines Ward is one of the dirtiest players to ever play the position, and he's overshadowed because James Harrison is worse.
No need to comment on Rapelisberger.

I don't see how anyone can hate the 'WHOLE' organization, may be a player or his personal life, but as the saying goes... Any cruddy excuse to post that dog. ;D

I'm a life long Browns fan, so I "hate" the Steelers as a rival. Their band wagon fans drive me nuts since I usually know more about the team and its history than they do, and I also get a bit miffed at the preferential treatment they seem to get from the NFL. However I do like and respect the Ronney family. I also respect what they have been able to do as a great hard nosed team. Its very hard not to appreciate the way their organization is run. So even though I don't like a lot of their "fans" and some things about them over all I respect the team, and I think they are a great rival.
The Ravens on the other hand I absolutely hate. Not in a friendly rivalry way either. The Ravens are an abomination of a franchise that was built with a stolen team, and they have no business existing. The whole origination was founded on a lies, greed, and hypocrisy. I have no respect for the franchise the fans or anything to do with the organization as a whole.

Replace the Patriots beating them with the Ravens beating them and you have a deal.

You ever notice that the Steelers win a lot and people hate winners? Jealous of our 6 Super Bowls, our plethora of Hall of Famers, our Pro Bowl players? Haters are gonna hate. I also love how people think the refs like us, then why do they constantly miss calls and the league apologizes to us? And yes, that happened this year. Fact is, the Steelers win a lot. 6 Super Bowl titles, most wins since 1970, a large amount of hall of famers and an extremely loyal fanbase. Personally, I like being the Yankees of the NFL.
Also when the Steel Industry crashed, a lot of Pittsburghers had to leave town. They stayed loyal to their team and passed it on. Hence, why you see Steelers fans everywhere. They got it from their parents/grand parents.

Nope, I've always respected 'em, kinda as worthy adversaries to my fandom of the Cowboys as they've battled in great Superbowls and as an organization for the most part they've had until fairly recently class players all the way around. They're extraordinarily well run, just as a team I'll concede they're usually good to great every year. I don't root for 'em, but I don't hate 'em.
I also gotta disagree about the bandwagon thing, as I've never seen any fans travel like theirs do.
I respect 'em.

Cowboy's got the moniker of "America's team" for a reason. They had fans coming out of the woodwork during their dynasty. When they get bad, it's hard to find one. Percentage wise, I think the Cowboys are worse by far. But, then again, the highest numbers of bandwagon fans traditionally come from the most successful franchises, like the Yankees or Red Sox and the Celtics or Lakers. They just tend to have a high number of very loyal fans as well.

Crikey, I always assumed that as soon as the 49ers started winning and making the playoffs they'd gain the hang ons. May be that's just Britain. hehe
