I went to GAME on Saturday, was a toss up (requiring a four sided coin) between Fallout New Vegas, Smackdown vs RAW 2011, Fable 3 and Sims 3. I went for the Sims, largely because I have previous of all the other three games already. Plus I miss not having the Sims in any form and having it for the 360 seemed like a plan. My Sim got laid last night. Not sure whether to be proud or jealous as he's now getting more action than I am.

So I was playing Mass Effect 2 and it asked to switch disks. I was like WTF I'm already on the second disk? This is bulls***! EDIT: If you had to recommend me one DLC for Mass Effect or ME2, which do you you think I should get? ME2 does this weird thing. The game essentially has 4 parts. Part 1 is on Disc 1, Part 2 and 3 are on Disc 2, and Part 4 is on Disc 1. Yes, instead of doing the LOGICAL thing if Part 1 and 2 on Disc 1 and 3 and 4 on Disc 2, so you just have to switch discs once, in playing ME2, you have to play Disc 1, switch it to Disc 2, and then switch it back to Disc 1. I didn't mind that. The game is front runner for my pick of GOTY.

God of War probably in a 3rd place spot, with Bad Company 2 in 4th or 5th. I've got to finish New Vegas to see where I place it.

I feel bad having the poster in my room, without having finished the game.

Reach. Get Reach.
I don't have a current front runner for GotY. It is a jumbled mess between Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Halo: Reach right now.

I played through a large chunk of Reach's story, and its good, and there's some fun gameplay stuff going on, but I'm having an infinitely better time with New Vegas.

Microsoft better figure out a way to get more storage capacity onto a DVD disc, there has to be a way.

Then its going to be a very sad holiday season if friggin Treyarch is making the so called biggest game of the season. I say so called because no one I know who plays games is talking about it....no one. They are all talking about the equally stupid WOW expansion. Besides, there is no chance in hell that Black Ops does anywhere near as well as Modern Warfare 2. No chance in hell? I'd think the fact that the game has more pre-orders than MW2 did might say otherwise. Plus, it is on 4 platforms(PC, PS3, 360, and Wii). That means more people can buy the game. I just don't its going to do too well beyond its pre-orders. I highly doubt its gonna sell 10 million units in the US like MW 2 did. Thats just me though.

Reading Kotaku's reviews of Kinect launch titles, and of the device itself.
Some interesting things:
- There is only one game in the launch line up with enough content to be called a true game, and not just glorified tech demos. - Kinect really does need you to have a lot of space. Kotaku says if you want to do more than single player, you need to be able to basically fit a pool table length-wise in front of your TV. - Nearly all but two games have lots of clear issues, like lag, moves not registering, etc.
However, here are the shockers. The one launch title that can actually be called a game? It isn't Dance Central, like damn near all of us thought. Dance Central, in truth, only has two modes, the single player mode, which is basically just the "Free Play" mode from the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games, ie, the game has no career mode, you can only pick a song and dance to it, and a two player head to head dance battle mode. Oh, and the game only has 32 songs. But, it plays greats.
In truth, the one launch title that can be called a game is....Kinectimals. Yes, the game we all thought was a game where you just play with a cat. Not true. The main game is a kind of simple adventure game. You have to search the island you and your animal are on for hidden items, and there are a variety of mini-games to play. Over 6 hours worth of gameplay in this mode.
Yeah. My mind was blown reading that as well. Kinectimals, the only title worth the $50 price tag.

Why is it so difficult to find an interesting player to co-op with on Dead Rising 2?
I only manage into games doing the cases and I try to help but they just run around doing nothing in between them.
I want a game where I can just go and do stupid but creative things with decent players who aren't worried about their level.

I toyed with the Kinect last night at walmart. They had that game where you hit a ball towards the wall (BALLS TO THE WAAALL!). It registered OK. It was kind of fun...but then Kell says "you look like an idiot." Then all the fun left. Save for when I walked away pushing my cart. It looked like I was doing the Roger Rabbit.

Amazing, pretty much all major retailers have sold out of the stand alone Kinect bundles. Of course almost all of them still have the console bundles with Kinect, but still.

I kind of wonder how many parents/grandparents not in the know will only end up getting Kinect without the 360. I'm guessing all of them. It isn't really that shocking. For Christmas 2005, my Step-grandma got me a year of Xbox Live Gold for the 360, of course I also got a Xbox 360 that Christmas via my Step-aunt and uncle, but my Step-grandma bought the year of Gold without knowing that I was going to get a 360. She just went into a store and asked what would be a good gift for a gamer. Plus, it is the price game. These grandmas and soccer moms not in the know will buy the stand alone bundle, because it is $150. They don't know you need a 360(even though the stand alone bundle says so right on the front), so they don't see why they should get either of the console bundles, so they'll go with the cheapest option, the $150 stand alone bundle. So if they only have a Wii in their house(high possibility), they'll be hosed.

I've sold tons of gaming stuff to soccer moms and grandmas at Wal-Marts and K-Marts over the years to ones that obviously knew nothing... like trying to buy new systems with no games, etc. There's a good bit that just stare blankly at a box like everything's written in Klingon.

Sweet, some good Firefight challenges today. One Spartan Army again... Kill 250 for 2500 cR and Killagruntjaro... earn 35 multikills in one game for 3500. If anyone's looking for Killagruntjaro go into Gruntpocalypse on Courtyard. If you hunker down in the left corner by the ammo, you can pick up some easy Overkills by letting the far grunts funnel down to you, picking off the white helmet first.
I hit the Numbers Game Gold commendation today as well... 2500 total multikills on Firefight. Now to wrap up One Spartan Army with 10 more kills. I'm closing in on Lt. Colonel. After this round I should be about 15k away.
