Who do you think would direct an interesting Batman movie? I think Darren Aronofsky(The Wrestler,Black Swan, and The Fountain director) would make a unique Bat flick. I could see it probably center more deeply on Batman's psychological drive than on action scenes.
EDIT: also as DSR has added, who would you also want to see play Batman?

Kevin Smith?
He's already written quite a few comic books....he's a director....prefect choice!! Plus, he's a Batman nerd, so maybe he could appease the uber fans who always seem to find something to bitch about.

Michael Bay. *awaits to be kicked off of the forum* I was expecting this one. XD A Bay batman flick would mostly focus on the bouncing bosom of whoever his leading lady is.(and some s*** blowing up in the background for no apparent reason.)

Perhaps he should make a Catwoman movie insted then. Wouldn't be any worse than the Halle Berry one.

I remember originally Joel Schumacher and even Darren Aronofsky wanted to do a Year One adaptation of Batman. But in all honesty, I am pretty content with Nolan's vision of Batman.
Visually I just feel his concept of Batman is how I always envisioned the character, Gotham City, and even the villains too.

If he was still alive, Stanley Kubrick.
Seeing as that's impossible, uh, I'll say, Oliver Stone. I always think he'd do a great, gritty Batman movie that would focus much less on action and more on psychological drama.

Seltzer and Friedberg. It wouldn't be good by any stretch of the imagination, but it'd be interesting.
