Brees fumbles, yet Julius Jones recovers it for some positive yardage.

It's called strategy. You take away one of their weapons. No different than not punting to Devin Hester.

I liked John Fox's style when the personnel was right. But he would INSIST on doing it no matter who was on the field. That style doesn't work at all when your offensive line isn't right (like early this season). Without Jeff Otah and reliable guards, your not going anywhere. Plus Stewart wasn't healthy. Two years ago, it worked great, because we had the right players at each spot to do it. Fox needs to learn when to add in a little variety and he would be fine, instead of just having a set game plan and refusing to deviate from it to play to the strengths of his players. That is what I was trying to say, the man will play his style of ball no matter if his team is built for that style. It is kind of like Mike Shanahan in Washington and personally, I could see Mike gone after the 2011 season (if their is one). Yes, we were kind of in a rebuilding year, but even for a rebuilding year.......it was terriible. And we saw several times this season that we had a defense who was undisciplined and would jump the gun, which screwed us. It is either his way or the high way and that doesn't succeed unless you have the team around you to do exactly that. Remember, this guy thought about playing Jake Delhomme last year even with a broken thumb. Here is the thing, though. If you are planning on being around in the future as a coach, then coaching that way is not the worst plan. Sure, it is brutal, but it allows you to know which players are going to be able to play in your system in the future. Those that can't can be released or traded. I think it is more of a statement of confidence than stubbornness. To be honest, if the team president did not stock his team with players that can play in his system, it is the fault of the president, not the coach. He has won in the recent past, so his system is not outdated and ineffectual. Asking him to coach a different system is just stupid. Let us look at the Colts for a moment. This year they had a ton of injuries and many starters either went down for the season or missed huge stretches of the season. They still got the #3 seed anyways because even the backups, the free agents, and the practice squad guys that got called up could play the system. Sure, having Manning is a large part of it, but it is not all of it. Having the players that can fit in the system made the difference. If they were not able to do that, then the Colts would have been the biggest "what if" in the league, even more than the Vikings. If your team does not have the right personnel to play a coach's system blame the team president instead of the coach, especially if that coach has been with the team as long as Fox had. There is no excuse for not knowing what kind of players to get when the coach and team president have been together for that long.

Good to see Marshawn Lynch is still alive.
He helped me win a Fantasy title a few years ago.
