One partiular lady comes to mind. A girlfriend of mine in high school had a piece of work for a mother. Bought cigarettes, beer, and whatever. She bought her daughter condoms! So, so wrong. We were 16 for crying out loud. A reasonable parent would have sat down two 16 year olds and made the gravity of the situation very clear. Instead, I got a box of condoms and an assurance that she would "leave the house for awhile" so her daughter and I could "have some time". I mean, at the time, I was like, "this is AWESOME!!!!", but looking back, I'm astonished at the sheer stupidity of the situation. You basically just described exactly my time with my ex.(except I was 22 and she was 19) It's actually kind of creepy when she nonchalantly asked "do you guys have enough condoms?" in the same manner as if asking if I had enough to eat. Big mistake getting involved like that.

How coolness became a superior value to, providing an example how an adult must behave and keeping one's child on the straight and narrow, is one of the curiousities of our age. *DING!* I agree with this way too much. I just don't think I can say any more about it without breaking any rules.
