What happened to Macho Man Surreal Life?

This wasn't just some made up Dave Meltzer rumor, I remember this rumor was EVERYWHERE! Carrot Top and Tina Jordan were also rumored to star in this season.

Now it's been like 5 years and we haven't had another proper Surreal Life season since. I lost hope a long time ago, but was there ever any truth to this Macho Man Surreal Life rumor.

I think VH1 killed the series after the all stars season. Shame too I really liked that show
