Just found an old prospect book (Baseball American from 2004.) Going to go team by team again.
#1: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
1.-Casey Kotchman/1B/FA: Seems like a huge bust. Has gotten worse and worse every year. 2. Jeff Mathis/C/Angels: Another bust. Seems destined for backup duty. 3. Dallas McPherson/3B/White Sox: Yet ANOTHER bust. Typical AAAA guy. 4. Ervin Santana/RHP/Angels: One of the more underrated pitchers in baseball. Love this guy. 5. Bobby Jenks/RHP/Red Sox: Originally a starter, closed for a few years. Well setup Papelbon (or Bard?) in Boston. 6. Alberto Callaspo/2B/Angels: Re-acquired after being with Royals. Regressed a bit but still an interesting player. 7. Brandon Wood/SS-3B/Angels: Early but it seems like he was called up WAY too quick. Looks like this will prevent him from reaching his ceiling. 8. Erick Aybar/SS/Angels: Nice fielder. Hitting is about average. Better then Wood. 9. Rafael Rodriguez/RHP/Dbax: Reliever. Probably nothing special. 10. Steven Shell/RHP/Royals: AAA guy.
Notables: 11. Joe Saunders/LHP/Dbax: Had some good years as a starter. Decent #4-#5. 14. Howie Kendrick/2B/Angels: Similar to Callaspo. Was highly touted but seems like another guy who will never reach his potential. 24. Sean Rodriguez/Utility/Rays: Nice power numbers. Pretty good part time player.

I'm sure the Indians prospect list will make me gag. Mark Shapiro has NEVER had a good draft class.
Although since it's from 2004, I assume Grady Sizemore is on it.

#2 Arizona Diamondbacks
1. Scott Hairston/OF/FA: Nice reserve OF who didn't pan out as expected. 2. Sergios Santos/RHP/White Sox: Failed as a shortstop prospect but absolutely killed it in the pen last year. Santos/Sale should=game over. 3. Dustin Nippert/RHP/FA: Reliever who hasn't done much. 4. Chad Tracy/3B/Diamondbacks: Back with org. Bust. 5. Adriano Rosario/RHP/White Sox: Now known as Tony Pena. Awful last year, decent before. Could be a starter this year. 6. Conor Jackson/1B/A's: Bench player. Never panned out. 7. Carlos Quentin/OF/White Sox: Notice a pattern here? Quentin has nice power and not really much else. 8. Brian Bruney/RHP/White Sox: Is there someone in Chicago who used to work for Arizona? Seriously? Bruney is not much. 9. Edgar Gonzalez/RHP/FA: Another one who showed some flashes but never really did anything. 10. Mike Gosling/LHP/Retired: Retired at 30...need not say more.
Notables: 15. Chris Snyder/C/Pirates: No contact but nice power for a catcher. 23. Carlos Gonzalez/OF/Rockies: Yeah...he's a f***ing beast lol.

These sorts of lists pretty much make me not bother looking at prospects lists and thinking any of them are going to be any good. It's usually the guys nobody expects who end up being good.

4. Chad Tracy/3B/Diamondbacks: Back with org. Bust. 7. Carlos Quentin/OF/White Sox: Notice a pattern here? Quentin has nice power and not really much else. lol. Tracy's career has been hampered by injuries. He looked like he was going to be the man in his first three years as a Diamondback. Quentin is still 27 and has quite a few years to flourish. If he suddenly started hitting 50+ HRs in a season, it'd be a hell of a lot more believable than Jose Bautista.

#3 Atlanta Braves: 1. Andy Marte/3B/Pirates: Yeah...yeah. Talk to Sajoa about him. Big prospect who just can't hit in the MLB. ;D 2. Jeff Francoeur/OF/Royals: Talk to ME about him. Lots of power but will swing at a pitch thrown above his head. 3. Bubba Nelson/RHP/ : Don't think he ever made majors. No clue where he is. 4. Dan Meyer/LHP/Phillies: Awful year this year, good year before. Could be a nice reliever though not an impact one. 5. Adam LaRoche/1B/FA (possibly going to the Nats): Nice power, average sucks. 6. Macay McBride/LHP/Tigers?: Last seen in the majors 3 years ago. No clue where he is now. 7. Brian McCann/C/Braves: EXCELLENT player who deserves more recognition. 8. Kyle Davies/RHP/Royals: Hasn't turned into the solid #3 people though. Could still be nice #5 starter. 9. Anthony Lerew/RHP/Japan: Another arm who never could stick in the majors. 10. Kelly Johnson/2B/Dbax: Real nice year with the bat. Notables: 12. Wilson Betemit/Utility/Royals: Nice year. Good bench guy. 19. Jarrod Saltalamacchia/C/Red Sox: Once of the best catching prospects in Baseball. Can he overcome mental mistakes? 22. Jo-Jo Reyes/LHP/Jays: #4 starter potential still there though had a bad year in AAA. Still young. 24. Brayan Pena/C/Royals: Decent backup. 28. Charlie Morton/RHP/Pirates: Good stuff. Can he battle injury bug?

Last one for today: #4 Baltimore Orioles 1. Adam Loewen/OF/Jays: Former pitcher converted to OF. Hasn't done s***. 2. John Maine/RHP/FA: Almost threw first no hitter for the Mets. Arm hasn't been the same for about a year or two. 3. Nick Markakis/OF/Orioles: Decent player but the RBI's dipped WAY down. Could be because of the lack of other hitters around him. 4. Val Majewski/OF/A's?: 2005 injury robbed him of skills. 5. Denny Bautista/RHP/Mariners: Good stuff, can't locate. 6. Matt Riley/LHP/ : Never recovered from TJ surgery. 7. Erik Bedard/LHP/Mariners: Good...when healthy that is. 8. Rommie Lewis/LHP/Jays: Mop up guy at best. 9. Mike Fontenot/Utility/Giants: Bench player. Can hit for some contact, plays a lot of positions. 10. Dave Crouthers/RHP/Retired: Never made majors. Notables: 12. Jose Bautista/OF/Jays: One of the best power hitters in the majors last year. Is he legit? 25. Darnell McDonald/OF/Red Sox: Nice bench player.

1. Andy Marte/3B/Pirates: Yeah...yeah. Talk to Sajoa about him. Big prospect who just can't hit in the MLB. ;D That awesome FFFFFFUUUU picture I heard the rousing celebration of Indians fans all the way down here in Texas when he signed a deal with the Pirates. #4 Baltimore Orioles 3. Nick Markakis/OF/Orioles: Decent player but the RBI's dipped WAY down. Could be because of the lack of other hitters around him Notables: 12. Jose Bautista/OF/Orioles: One of the best power hitters in the majors last year. Is he legit? 3.) After reading of their team on paper for this season, he may have more chances to bring runners home. Their team will be pretty good as early as next season, but realistically the season after. A team like this, in the NL West, could take the division... They just need a knock out starter. As much as I like Guthrie, he's not a #1 guy... 12.) I think you mean Blue Jays... and how.... ...just how... There's no way he can replicate that.... I'm sure the Indians prospect list will make me gag. Mark Shapiro has NEVER had a good draft class. Although since it's from 2004, I assume Grady Sizemore is on it. Don't worry. 2 of Seattle's top 10 that year went on to not be so bad in Cleveland. I laugh at every game against Seattle on the radio this previous season, almost like he was required by law to mention it, Mike Hegan would mention something about how Choo or Cabrera would get an impact hit, and he'd mention something along the lines of "man, wouldn't Seattle LOVE to have that kind of production in their line-up. I remember, I believe it was EA Sports MVP Baseball, had Dallas McPherson as the highest potential prospect in their game. He was the ONLY character with a 5-star potential. How did THAT work out for them?

Imagine an outfield trio of Ichiro, Gutierrez, and Choo. Nobody would take an extra base on those guys.

#5 Boston Red Sox: 1. Hanley Ramirez/SS/Marlins: One of the best all around hitters in the game when he isn't acting like a doofus. 2. Kelly Shoppach/C/Rays: Some power, low average. 3. David Murphy/OF/Rangers: Nice year. Little power sprinkled with a nice contact swing. 4. Kevin Youkilis/3B/Red Sox: Great high average, high OBP guy. Amazing player. 5. Matt Murton/OF/Japan: Seems to have topped out as a AAAA player. One of the best Western hitters in the NPB right now. 6. Chad Spann/3B/ : No clue where he is. Assumed a bust. May have been last seen in Astros system. 7. Abe Alvarez/LHP/Italy: Only 10.1 MLB innings. Bust. 8. Jon Lester/LHP/Red Sox: Even Lymphoma couldn't keep Lester down. One of the top left handed starters in baseball. 9. Juan Cedeno/LHP/Royals?: Never made it to the MLB. 10. Manny Delcarmen/RHP/FA: Great reliever in 2007 but slowly declining since. Notables: 14. Jon Papelbon/RHP/Red Sox: All star closer though disappointing in 2010.
