yeah, the semi-annual what classes/courses are you taking this semester/quarter/term thread.
I'm mainly catching up on Electives and courses for my minor this semester after a lackluster one this fall.
Theatre 163+ Lab-Theater Tech
History 395-Baseball
Comm 471-Stereotypes in the Media
English 251-Creative Writing
English 339 + Lab-Special Topic in Film
The special topics classes are basically just a theme that the professor knows especially well, and the class theme can change from semester to semester(For example, Math 105 will always be the same math class, regardless of who teaches it. However, my History 395 class, also a special topics class, is only about baseball because that's what the professor seems to know. If his discipline was the Civil War, it'd be a Civil War history class).
The last professor of 339 taught it basically as a breakdown of the Hollywood system. While that sounds interesting, it would literally be my third class that basically does that. There is a different professor though, and his discipline appears to be African-American studies, so I'd imagine that's what he'd teach about(on his school website, his only degrees, mentioned classes, and cited publications are about African-American studies, so I'd hope that's what he's teaching about. If not, then it seems like kind of a waste).
The way my schedule works(most of my classes are offered just once), My Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are very relaxed(work in the morning,a class in the afternoon/evenings on Monday Wednesday, and just work with no class on Friday), while my Tuesdays and Thursdays are long(5 75 min classes on Tuesday, 3 75 min classes and a 3 hour lab on Thursdays).
