Ya, I'll agree with earplugs as well. I remember in my younger, dumber days, going to concerts and my buddy and I laughing at the "loser" with the earplugs. Ya, years later, the loser can probably still hear really good. Mines not going, but its taking longer to stop ringing after shows.

Ya, years later, the loser can probably still hear really good. Mines not going, but its taking longer to stop ringing after shows. My ears were ringing for about a week after the Misfits show I mentioned earlier on in the thread. After that I swore to wear earplugs again the next time I go see a band... and then promptly forgot to wear them when I saw Machinae Supremacy last month. At least they didn't play as f***ing loud as Jerry Only & Some Guys from Black Flag.

Do not feel pressured to oblige if the band asks if you're ready to rock. If you're not ready, politely tell the band so and to give you five more minutes or how ever much time you need.

If you are going alone, concerts are also a blast. I did it a few times and some people always saw me standing on my own outside and took me in and I made some good friends, even hooked up once.
I'd just advise what other people have said. Get hydrated before the show (venue drinks are expensive), wear whatever you want, try to take a leak before things get crowded. If you feel like getting into a pit, or just find yourself in one, don't worry about it. People are generally cool. If you fall, people WILL pick you up. If you want out, just allow yourself to be bumped to the edge of the pit and stand firm when you get there. It really is like a brotherhood, it's so cool. People are all there to have a good time and no one wants to ruin anything for anyone.

That T-shirt "rule" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. To me it just reeks of "elitist schmucks with a better-than-you" opinion. Support the band(s). Buy their merchendice and wear their merchendice.

For those that believe that you shouldn't wear the band you see stuff is the stupid and untrue rule I ever heard. I went to Ozzy Osbourne last night and 90% of the people there had Ozzy or a Black Sabaith shirts on. 5% had another band. The 5% was normal shirts.
The same deal when I saw Metallica 90% of fans had Metallica shirts on two years ago. Same with Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper last year.
Markish or whatever is stupid. It call showing your support to the band. Wear the shirt if you buy one. Don't listen to that rule about not wear the bands stuff. If a crap rule and most of the time more people will have that band shirt on then not.

Anyway, on his Brutally Live DVD, he points out a guy in a Marilyn Manson Tshirt that's pissing him off. Because, he was introing "It's the Little Things", not because he actually cared though.
