Rumors have been swirling for the past 24 hours that Maryland could be after current Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez. Whatever became of Mike Leach going to Maryland? I remember a front page story on Yahoo a couple weeks ago that said Leach was going to be the new head coach at Maryland so I just assumed he had the job. I haven't seen or heard anything else about it since. I guess it was just a false rumor. If they actually aren't going after Leach anymore, I'm guessing it's the same reason Leach didn't get hired at Washington or Miami when he interviewed; he is a nut job.

Bowl updates: Little Caesars Bowl- Florida International def. Toledo 34-32 SO..... MUCH..... RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE~!!!! That is one of the biggest WTF losses in a long time, for me. FIU BARELY became bowl eligible, and Toledo was killing teams left and right. On paper, Toledo should've been able to beat them into a bloody pulp with their backups!

This'll be a pretty decent upset if WVU goes down here.

It's a shame that most people I'm chatting with blame Coach Stewart for just about everything.
Cause, you know, he's the one who muffed the punt or fumbled the ball. That was a team loss due to individual mistakes. If anything, WVU needs a new kicker who won't destroy anything resembling momentum for the team.
Then again, I'm a grumpy fan off of a bad game, so what do I know?

Apparently if you don't blame Bill Stewart for everything, you're not a true WVU fan or so I've been told. It can never be the players' fault. Has Stewart made some bad decisions? Absolutely but find me one college coach who hasn't. Everyone just wants to blame Stewart for everything. The kicker missed field goals? Stewart's fault. Jock Sanders fumbled near the goal line? Stewart's fault. Then God forbid you actually say it wasn't all his fault.

That was the biggest reason why my Rockets lost.

Yeah his record isn't bad, but the team has really regressed and is not really seen as a true contender.

Yeah his record isn't bad, but the team has really regressed and is not really seen as a true contender. Well, the entire Big East has regressed. The thing is that Stewart has a better 3 year record than Rich Rod did in his first three years here. The only reason Rich Rod looked good towards the end is because he struck gold and landed Pat White. Everyone has seen what type of coach Rodriguez actually is since he went to Michigan. He turned it around a little this year but Michigan should be at least in contention every year. Yeah,Stewart had Pat White his first year as well but then he keeps winning with Jarrett Brown and Geno Smith at quarterback. I'm not knocking Brown or Smith because they're solid quarterbacks but WVU could have easily finished worse than they did. I'm not saying Stewart is on the level of a Bob Stoops or Jim Tressel. But he's done a pretty decent job of keeping WVU in the top 25 since he took over. They're not going to finish in the top 25 this year after the bowl game but they were ranked heading into it. Like I said in the previous post,Stewart has made some bad decisions but it happens. WVU has won 9 games every year he's been here. I know for some of the bigger programs that may not seem like a lot but this is West Virginia. Back in the 90s/early 2000s we were lucky to win 6 or 7 games a year. But that one year of almost making the National Championship game with Pat White got almost everyone spoiled in this state.

It sounds more and more likely that Jim Harbaugh will be taking over after Stanford's bowl game. Rod doesn't do a good job recruiting, and ST has been awful under him

Welp, I had Missouri, West Virginia, and Hawaii winning with a ton of confidence points. So my pool is shot.
