I'm shocked (in a very nice way) as I thought Activision would fudge this up big time but it doesn't look like they have. Looks like I'll be getting it now. I remember playing on it with friends on N64 back in the day too.

After Rogue Agent I was a little skeptical myself. But it looks decent enough.
I kindof hate how the whole ad campaign ever since the announcement (the E3 trailer had focus groups discussing the N64 game) centered around how it would take alot of the N64 game and do it up better, and it turns out past that first part of the Dam its completely different. I appreciate them not entirely doing that though, the audience for modern day remakes is so damn harsh. With alot of games it's either the original or nothing (Turtles in Time, anyone?).

Just first heard of it the other day while watching TV with my roommate and we both screamed in happiness. We're going to have to get a Wii.
I wonder if there will be the RC-P90, hehe.

It actually is fun as all hell too.
If you turn up the difficulty, it's the hardest Wii game of all time too. It's a very satisfying game.

Wow, that's great news! If it's that good, I might have to buy it as opposed to playing it at a friend's house.

There is the FN P90 (the FN is part of the name I promise) which is the real name of the gun the RC-P90 is based off of. No idea if it holds up to the sheer brutality of the RC-P90 though. If you turn up the difficulty, it's the hardest Wii game of all time too. It's a very satisfying game. Are you talking about the hidden difficulty level or just 007? For those that don't know: {Spoiler}One of the difficulty levels is 007 classic, where your health doesn't regenerate ala Goldeneye 64(sounds fine, but the enemy AI is a gigantic step up from the old Goldeneye given the generations since). You have to rely on body armor strung out in the level.

Hopefully, this game will be a success and designers return to make difficult games and stop using that self-regenerating bullcrap....i mean it's basically nothing more than cheating, using something that resembles god-mode. Healthpacks in my oppinion are way more challenging, you can't rush into enemies, then hide for 5 seconds until your health is full again and repeat the rambo tactic

Pretty much it penalized a player for getting hit. (no recovery whatsoever)

They really should have ported this to other platforms.
I loved the original, but I'm not gonna buy a Wii just for this, criminal shame they cant just re-release the old one though.
Stupid greedy studios.

The only black eye in the review scale for this game is Game Informer's 6.5 out of 10 review. But then again, we're all aware about GI and Nintendo.

Greedy Nintendo. Rare were developing a straight remake a few years back but Nintendo told them to go f*** themselves and wouldn't license anything back to Rare. So instead they remade Perfect Dark, which is equally as good as Goldeneye.

The videogame console war can be pretty cut-throat at times.

The issue was they wanted it ported to Wii as well, and Microsoft wanted it to be 360 exclusive.
