Who used to play the board game Axis and Allies? I LOVED the game, but it was always hard to find someone to play with. It's been years since the last time I played. I picked up a PC version, but it just wasn't the same.

Me, me, ME! I loved that game! It was Risk to a higher level! (I'd always be Great Britain. I'd be Great Britain because everything they had was compacted in that part of the world. You weren't spread too thin, so you could escalate quicker.) There were always two people in our group of five fighting over who was the United States - my brother would usually be them or would not play at all. Then two others would fight over Germany; one of them was a friend with a Polish name. No, you can't make that up. And my brother and I were the ones with German ancestry, yet we didn't want to be them.
The group of five whittled down to four when one guy just kept rolling the dice and wiping out my friend, who was royally ticked off and vowed to never play with him again. (Some guys and their "serious" war-games. He thinks he's Poland's answer to Eisenhower.)
I seen it at the stores for $25-30, but that's kinda pricey for me - a game where I'll probably be the only one playing. (Risk is $20, Stratego I've seen...for $30. $30! They've got to be kidding me!)

I've played the Original and D-Day versions of the board game. Just me and my one friend, though- so they were sloooooooooooooooooooow games.
Anyone else play the Axis & Allies miniatures game? Unfortunately WOtC went full imbecile with it and broke a great set of rules several times, but if kept simple it's a fun (and fast!) game.

Axis and Allies, if played properly, will take months and ruin friendships.
The best board game ever.
