TMZ is reporting that Zsa Zsa Gabor is having part of her leg amputated because a blood clot has spread too far.
Discuss.

Ugh, amputations are never fun, but I'll admit, I didn't even realize she was still alive. Hold on, I've got to go check on Abe Vigoda...

Between her and Annette Funicello, I've been under the impression they've been on their deathbed for the last 15 years. And before you ask the question who is Annette Funicello, please consult your local Wikipedia servicemen. I don't have time to tell you she was a former Mousekeeter who starred in beach-themed movies with Frankie Avalon that were wildly popular in the 50s and 60s.

Aww, that's no good. I hope she recovers well.
I got a new respect for her after I saw her in Naked Gun 2 1/2, so I do hope she gets better.

my great grandmother had a blood clot in her leg, and the doctors offered to amputate it. by then she was already in her 90's and she told the docs not to worry about it. she had already buried three of her children, and had 25 grandchildren and 14 great grand children.
i kind of hope zsa zsa does the same thing, really.

After reading these posts, I'm 100% convinced that the Crap posters have more class than 95% of the posters on CNN. I read the comments on the story about it and couldn't believe half of them. Heck, even the Ebay joke was classier than some of what was said there.
I wish ol' Zsa Zsa the best of luck in recovery.

I do wish Zsa Zsa the best.
My grandfather had to have his leg amputated because of blood clots. I was barely a year old when it happened, so I only ever knew him with just the one leg.

I hate to say it but usually when they start taking off arms and legs they are about to the end of their rope. Though there are some exceptions. My neighbor had one of his taken off and lived four more years before cancer got him. My great aunt lived a few weeks after having her foot taken off my great uncle was in the hospital to have his leg amputated when he had a massive heart attack.

An update: the doctors are trying major antibiotics to save her leg, so the amputation may be the absolute last resort. But I do hope she doesn't wait too long because, if they do, even amputation can't stop gangrene if it goes too far.
