...shows?
I mean, no offense, but Toni Braxton just got a show. She was really big in the late 90's but not really since then at all.
I'm sure she'd work cheaper than Oprah for example, but Oprah is too big of a star for some hokey reality show.
But what makes the network thinks this'll really draw a hell of a lot of interest?
It's like they just need something to fill a timeslot.
TLC (The group) had a show where someone had a chance to sing with them, but it was really over chart wise when Lisa died.
Chilli from TLC has a dating show, now I'd LOVE to date her, but that's not even enough to get me to watch.
So what's the point?

Because for most of those not so big celebs, that's pretty much the biggest things they're being offered as of late.

The Hoff's reality show was cancelled after two episodes and now he's in Australia pimping Ice Cream.

because why would Johnny Depp or Aneglina Jolie want to do one? Reality shows are the final indignity of celebrity.

The concept of the celebrity reality show does draw an audience, hence why so many of them last for several seasons.
However, most actual big name celebrities don't need the exposure, or would have such a huge price tag that they aren't feasible for studios to get. So they have to go celebrities who haven't done anything huge as of late.

Because Gene Simmons still wants to feel like he's doing something new that's important.

Lesser celebs don't have the money the big ones do.

Entertainment value means alot. If Toni Braxton turns into a pscho, and makes the show entertaining people will tune in regardless of name quality.
Also means they dont have to hire more than one actor, and no writers.
