I drove past a Chuck E Cheese today that I haven't been in, nor thought about for 20 plus years and I was shocked to see the lights on and people going inside.
I don't have any children, so I don't Know what is popular with the 9 and under set, but I find it hard to believe kids are clamoring for that cardboard esque pizza they sell or to hear from that creepy robot band, but they must be turning some sort of profit.
Also, how the hell is Radio Shack still around?!?! They were never that great of an electronic store unless you were in the market for a remote control car that would stop working 2 weeks after purchase or a cheap metal detector. The only possible explanation I can think of is that they're a front for a drug cartel.

Actually the Radio Shack near me is always doing good business. I think I've only been in there once when it was actually kind of dead. As for Chuck E. Cheese, the one in Charleston is always packed as well. I've never actually been in it but when you drive by,you can tell it's busy. Just about a month ago,I drove by it and people were literally waiting outside the door to get in.

If I was a parent, there's no way I'm paying over $100 to do something I can do at home for a fraction for the price. I've always thought Radio Shack was kind of lame.

Little Chef in the UK.
This is the company that partnered up with a celebrity chef to try and rejuvinate their image and then basically sandbagged him at every turn, with the manager and staff of the restaurant he tried to trial his plans in refusing to help him despite the fact they were losing money everywhere and the and the head of the company refusing to give him any financial documents or any idea of a budget.
British institution or not, they deserve to go out of business for practices like that.

They're painfully bad, in my experience, but they probably get by just by overcharging. 20 years ago my parents refused to pay the £5 for a reheated can of heinz soup and a roll.

Did you watch the Heston Blumenthal thing where he tried to work with them? It was jaw-dropping how inept they are. And yeah, the overpricing is shocking. This for a place with no hobs in the kitchen.

The kids have fun playing games with tokens, and the adults can drink beer. Only pizza place that I know of where everyone's satisfied.

Actually I see commercials for Chuck E. Cheese all the time. They did away with the animatronic band and such I think. One friend takes his kids there a lot and he said they said something about the kids not eating because they were watching the band too much or some bulls***, so they took them out.Who cares if the kids are eating their food or not? They can take it home. It's not like they had vegetables or anything.

I worked in a Radio Shack (for about 3 months before I quit...) and I can tell you why they will never go out of business: old people. Think about it, you're an older person that wants batteries or a new phone for your house. That Best Buy is giant and you don't know where anything is, plus it's usually packed and hard to find an employee to give you exactly what you need. Since Radio Shack employees work on commission, they are always MORE than happy to hand you what they think is a great product.

Surprisingly the blockbuster video near me is still in business and doing pretty well. I guess that netflix hasnt really taken off down south where i live. Frankly, im surprised there are still a good chunk of cigarette companies around. You'd think with the public perception toward smoking that most of them would just merge into one company to take some of the heat off of them. Im not saying i approve of smoking (far from it), im just stating a thought.

Dell computers. What a mess! Working in a computer store I have slowly learned this as well. However, I can't imagine them going out of business before HP does.

The kind of people who eat at Little Chefs are just there for a basic English breakfast or anything with chips. So why did they bring in a guy who is known for making things like fish flavoured ice-cream? Yes, he's successful but it doesn't really go together for me.

I remember a few months ago, I think I read it on this board actually, there was some kinda controversy over a promotion the WWE was doing with Blimpies. That shocked the hell out of me because I haven't seen a Blimpies since I was in college nearly 10 years ago. I thought it went out of business and Subway's had pretty much replaced it.
Also growing up the three big fast food places were McDonalds, Burger King and, where I lived anyways, Roy Rogers. When I was around 10 the Roy Rogers near me closed up (replaced by Wendy's), and all the other Roy Rogers I knew about in the area closed up as well. I figured the whole company went out of business. Then about 2 years ago when I was driving up the NYS Thruway I discovered a bunch of them at various rest stops. I had to stop and order a roast beef sandwich to help relive a forgotten moment of my childhood. Sadly they didn't have the spicy chicken nuggets I remembered.

I'm assuming that he kept his exhibitionist tendencies in check, and just created quality dishes.

K-Mart. I know they're not doing so hot lately anyway, but it feels like the kind of place you shop at if Walmart is too high class.

Toys r Us because Walmart, Target, etc took a large amount of their business away. Just toy stores in general have to be on the way out.
