My dad is watching Twilight. My dad... is watching... Twilight. Twilight.
THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH!
(About an hour ago, my dad was searching for something to watch and saw that Twilight was about to begin. He asked me if it was any good, and I said no, but there was nothing else interesting on TV, so he decided to watch a movie. Fast forward now, and he's still watching it.)
THE HORROR.

Furthermore, it was dinner time a while ago. My dad adjusted his seat at the dinner table so he'd be able to watch.
Seriously, though, if he likes it, then it's fine, but due to my opinion of the series, I might start laughing if he says that he likes the movie. I will feel bad about it, but...

Twilight wasn't even the worst film released that year. Probably not even that week.

Nothing wrong with that. The Twilight films get a bad rao.

Nothing wrong with that. The Twilight films get a bad rao. If I may inquire good sir, what is a rao? Anyways, Twilight wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the Mary Sue of a lead and the shitload of unfortunate implications that you don't even have to read in between the lines for.

Most vampire films have unfortunate implications. Yes, Twilight is unsubtle about them. But I don't see why it gets singled out for an inherent flaw in the genre. It's not like Twilight was the first film/TV series/book to carry out the idiotic 'vampires are teh sex' idea.

Well, I'm mostly exaggerating, but I do find it strange that he liked it... then again, I do like weird anime, so it's not as strange as I think.

I've always said that Twilight is fine, in my book, if the person watching it is acknowledging that it's a silly, over the top/harlequin style romance story, and not some grand, well constructed epic or something.
That said, if I was a dad with a daughter, I wouldn't want her reading it until she was mature enough to have her own concept of what a healthy relationship is.

If I may inquire good sir, what is a rao? This is a bad rao, I'd expect: I love you. Also, I don't think the Twilight movies are all that bad. They're not pinnacles of modern fiction or anything, but they're decent for what they are. The books are unreadable in my opinion, though.

Funny thing about me and Twilight is I actually don't mind the books. First one is OK and Breaking Dawn isn't bad. Eclipse I actually really enjoyed. I still think New Moon is the worst of the lot since I simply don't find anything appealing about someone being near suicidal for AN ENTIRE NOVEL because of a break up.
The movies? I've only seen the original and it was WRETCHED to me. It was just so campy, so over the top and, I'm sorry, Edward should not look like a gay man's wet dream in the sunlight, at least not based off the original description in the book certainly.
Oy vey.

I agree with you on the books. Most of the secondary characters, especially Rosalee and Emmett are fun to read about. New Moon though was so wretched...again, all the secondary characters were fun and likable, but Bella was a monstrous evil bitch! I hated her guts!
