Took me awhile but I found what the problem was. They put the original versions instead of the Kidz Bop versions. That's why there was a recall.

The mother also said something about "the way they referred to women". It is kinda weird that they would market songs like that as "kids music".

Who cares? In this day and age kids are easily exposed to curse words and such by their own parents more than anything.

I saw this in the paper the other day, but it was so vague I had no idea what happened.

If the parents think this music is so bad for their kids, why not introduce them to a different genre. Go ahead and find me some profane, sexually suggestive instrumental dubstep.

This is why tbe Kidz Bop series, and its cheap knockoffs like this one, irritate me. There's a reason these songs were made for adults and not for children! Having children sing a watered down version of a song does not change the lyrical theme. Removing "curse" words does not change a theme.
It's just like the Janet's Pastygate from the Super Bowl a few years ago. All that outrage over her dried up ol' tittie flopping out, but I didn't hear a SINGLE WORD about the fact that JT had sang "gonna have you naked by the end of this song" several times in the minutes prior.

Yeah we'll protect the kids by taking away music that is semi-offensive to us! thet'll cleanse their minds!
But what if they turn on the TV and watch Jersey Shore or Keeping Up with the Kardashians or stumble upon a Lady Gaga video?

I remember seeing a commercial for a Kidz Bop CD featuring a remake of Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" which contains the line, "Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, so you don't confuse them with mountains." I can see why people might have a problem with their 9-year-old daughter singing along with that.

This. A thousand times this. I remember a couple years ago, Kidz Bop had a couple of songs by GREEN DAY on their CD. GREEN F***ING DAY. Now, I know a lot of you on here aren't the biggest Green Day fans, but I enjoy their music immensely. When I saw Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends were on a CD, I flipped. Boulevard of Broken Dreams is the hangover to Holiday. And Wake Me Up When September Ends is a tribute to Billie Joe's father, who died of esophageal cancer. I don't want to hear a bastardized kids version of two ballads that I enjoy. Plus, like it's been said on here, a lot of those songs on the CDs AREN'T MEANT FOR LITTLE KIDS!!!
