New Jack himself has said that Jim Cornette is/was a closet racist who doesn't like black people. In an interview, Bad News Brown said that DM was a racist and that Andre the Giant made racist jokes about black people.

Technically, all whites are racists, as they benefit from white privilege and institutionalized racism. The only white privilege I get is being picked first for teams in bowling. And Michael Hayes does NOT hate black people. It's the Puerto Ricans he's got issues with. It got so bad in the mid-90s, Savio Vega tried to poison his shampoo.

Technically, all whites are racists, as they benefit from white privilege and institutionalized racism. Beyond that, unless someone literally comes out and says, "I think (minority group) is inferior to (my group)", I'm not really sure how you can tell if someone holds actual prejudicial feelings. That right there is about the biggest pile of BS I've ever seen. BTW calling a whole race of people racist by proxy of your own flawed view of the way one society supposedly operates is pretty freaking racist in its own right. I'll leave it at that since I don't want to get this thread shut down.

Well I don't know about the other two, but during Bill Watts's booking term in WCW he did attempt to package Harlem Heat as two black guys lead to the ring in chains by a rich white Southern man. It's pretty hard not to construe that as such. That was actually Ole Anderson Ah, my mistake.

Brickhouse Brown did mention in a shoot that Ole Anderson doesn't like black wrestlers. By the way, have you ever heard or read anyone say to the effect that Abdullah the Butcher or Jeff Jarrett are racists?

People overuse the term "racist".. someone may make a joke or say something they consider mildly offensive and benign, but they get labeled for life as racists. The word in reality is losing it's meaning.

Most of this stuff seems like a regional generation gap rather than an issue with racism. Old men get stuck in their ways, without any malice behind it. That's why Booker thinks nothing of it, but Lashley gets upset.

I doubt JJ is a racist, considering he is apparently buddies with Ron Killings.

The only people that think he's racist are far too sensitive. Hayes has a friendship with Booker T and MVP. How can someone be racist and have that?
Hayes is a cool dude, not racist. Never crossed my mind, and is in fact a huge R&B fan (which is a predominately black music genre). He's a part of the greatest tag team in history and unfortunately gets thought of as a "racist" more than that.
Lots of people from the South get thought of as racist for stupid reasons and that is quite unjust to suggest.

I doubt JJ is a racist, considering he is apparently buddies with Ron Killings. # Well, he did call Killings an uppity negro one time, though that was something reported online, so it might be false. I think it was during the time when Pacman Jones was around. Truth was having a lot of problems at the time with TNA then too. I think it was with him wanting a hotel or something. I don't think Double J is racist, but I'm not sure if he and Truth are on the same page now, though they might be. A couple of things I want to mention. Mark Henry is a bit more conservative then most, he's just a guy, he has a family, I saw pictures of his house and his family, and I think he legit has a white picket fence. Where as Michael Hayes is kinda crazy, and an all out partier, and it might just be like a cultural thing, as mentioned with the talk he had with Booker T and MVP. Some other people were mentioned. Jim Cornette, at the end of a New Jack shoot, they had a little clip where he was doing his Guest Booker interview, and New Jack comes in singing, "Why can't we be friends". Basically, they let bygones be bygones there. I don't think Jim is racist, the gimmick he had with the Gangstas, I guess he thought it was relevant and he could get some heat with it. The gimmick was good, and it's an example of Jim giving guys a gimmick they can relate to, and have them run with it which isn't done enough in wrestling, where people are told what to do. But Jim admits that he got the wrong kind of heat with the Gangstas. As for Bill Watts, his booker was Ernie Ladd for a long time, so it's weird. There are so many conflicting stories about Bill, it's ridiculous. One story he told, so it might not be true, is Bill brought in Junkyard Dog and wanted to push him. Ernie Ladd though didn't want to, so he put JYD in a match where JYD didn't look that good. Bill fired Ernie Ladd, and like, rehired him the next day or something. So, he had a good relationship with Ernie as his booker, I guess. Though, sometimes promoters just use bookers as money makers. Gary Hart said that he and Fritz Von Erich didn't have the best relationship, despite working together for so long, and Gary being an important part of the lives of the Von Erich kids. My favourite racism related story though involves R-Truth and Road Dogg. Basically, as said earlier, when Truth joined WWE in 2000, he was told by Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard that this is a "white man's business". JR said that Truth could be the "Michael Jordan" of the WWE though, which gave Truth some relief I guess. So, he tells Road Dogg this, and says, "isn't that funny". So Road Dogg, being the unpolitical guy says, "hell no it's not funny". So Road Dogg (much to the dismay of Truth) calls up both guys and starts yelling at them and got them to apologize. Truth didn't want to rock the boat, but Road Dogg was one of those people who spoke his mind.

I'm sure i'm not gonna get any love for what i'm about to type but.......I read for years that roddy piper was one. Ever since hearing that I began to think what is he known mostly for? His feud with Mr. T the first two wrestlemanias where he openly said he didnt like Mr. T even after the fact? Him painting his body half black for his match against Bad News Brown?

A person can be racist and still have black friends.
Not that I'm making any accusations about anybody, but having one or two black friends shouldn't be used as evidence that somebody is/isn't racist against blacks.

Not that I'm making any accusations about anybody, but having one or two black friends shouldn't be used as evidence that somebody is/isn't racist against blacks. I know, but it shouldn't be ignored in addition to other things that suggest that he isn't racist. Really, calling someone racist is a thing that people can accuse without any sort of notable evidence either for or against it. It's just an abrasive claim that can actually seem more racist to suggest than just not pay attention to. Unless someone goes on record as claiming they are racist or has a robust history of racist activity, whether it be in groups or hateful speeches that expand a few slips of the tongue, I won't ever proclaim someone as racist. It might be a sexy controversy, but more often than not it's just misinformed opinions.

I don't know how true this is, but I also heard that Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and Bill Watts were all racists? Are those true or are those lies used to discredit them? Bill Watts loved him black champions....We know that much. Flair and Rhodes, I dunno, maybe. I was about 9 or 10 years old when Dusty Rhodes came to the WWF. It took me a while to accept that fact that he actually was not black. I just thought he was albino. It's hard for me to picture the guy as racist.

Dick Murdoch and Brian Pillman also were labeled as racists. Jim Cornette as well. Prince Nana said that he hates black people too. I think Jim Cornettes problem is that he hates everybody.

The Mr T remarks in promos were to build heat, and Piper's stated he disliked Mr T's attitude toward wrestlers and the fact he was going to go over wrestlers when he was a special attraction, his colour wasn't part of it. The Bad News Brown thing, as has been discussed in the thread about it on Wrest was actually an anti-racism message gone wrong. Bad News liked it at the time, but later on called Piper racist. I've heard other guys suggest someone got in Bad News' ear about it and stirred things. It's one of those things though where once somebody has the accusation of racism over his/her head, it's always going to leave a question mark. Everybody knows I'm a huge Piper mark, so I'm likely to defend him, but around 03-04 when he was having real drug issues and became, by his own admission, a very unpleasent person, I myself questioned whether the rumours were true, but having watched interviews before and after the fact, I'm fairly sure it's a misconstrued rumour. It's pretty understandable if somebody though otherwise though. Bad News was pretty adamant about it in his shoot. I just refer back to the fact he was fine about it at the time.
