I hate this attitude in wrestling. Just because they think it might not work means that they won't try. It's stupid really. The thing about it is that nobody can predict what's going to get over or not. If you never try to get something over then you'll never know if it will or not. Though I do agree that this current gimmick should have been avoided or at least gone full bore. The problem is that while trying new things out can work, there's no point in trying things out when they become more costly than the benefits they can project. DiBiase never got over through Legacy. Not before it or right after it either. So to get him over, they pretty much fed John Morrison to him for a couple months or so. Why? Morrison was getting good fan reactions despite the constant yo-yo pushes he had gotten up to that point, and had proved himself capable of playing a somewhat better heel than DiBiase ever had (in terms of once again, fan response). So that begs the question. Why did they depush him to elevate DiBiase, a guy who was a less valuable person to have on the roster in terms of his overall value anyway? That's a bigger problem than not taking risks: it's that they take unnecessary risks with the wrong people, and never pull the trigger when they've got a bullseye on creating a new megastar. This is a good point as well. It was certainly proven quite thoroughly with the Drew McIntyre experiment. I will disagree though that DiBiase wasn't over at all during the Legacy thing. They did have a perfect window of opportunity to pull the trigger on his babyface turn. All they had to do was build up the tension between him and Orton, with Rhodes playing the middle man and mediator perhaps, and then eventually lay him out with a punch. That's all it would've taken to give him momentum. Now granted they probably would have pissed it all away afterwards, but I think there was a decent chance at him getting over. Certainly more of one than he has right now.

I've said it constantly they half assed his million dollar son gimmick from the start...
They claimed he had all this money and not once did they ever show him really do anything with it... other than trying to buy someones eyeball... if he's an over privileged rich kid who hasn't had to work a day in his life... DO SOMETHING WITH IT.
It's the one of the most basic writing rules... SHOW don't TELL.

The way he was just in the ring this time I felt he would be released, and also they will release Gail and Tyson.

I don't care what anybody says, when you're getting a jobber entrance and losing to Santino in less than a minute the warning bells are loud and clear. What about how Ted has dragged Maryse down from most dominant Diva to nothingness. Who's corn flakes did she piss in to get this?

What about how Ted has dragged Maryse down from most dominant Diva to nothingness. Who's corn flakes did she piss in to get this? It's called "push cycling" and happens to most divas, especially the heels who get the strongest booking during their reigns. Melina wins the Women's title in early 2007, wins at WM and beats Mickie in a drawn-out feud, then gets fed to Candice to put her over and gets relegated for a few months to such dubious segments as getting stripped naked by a midget and standing next to MVP before he puked all over Matt Hardy. Beth Phoenix beats Candice for the Women's title in 2007, steamrolls over the entire women's roster, is booked as dominant for over a full year, and then, after losing to Melina in a feud for the title, spends months doing absolutely nothing other than, once again, dubious segments such as getting brain chopped by Khali and outsmarted by Santina Marella. There's more examples, but I think those are the two people who, barring Michelle McCool (now that she's finally lost the title, this will happen to her, too), had the "strongest" heel reigns of the current crop of divas. Maryse got treated as relatively important too, and in the same vein, has basically spent her time doing nothing besides getting dragged down by hanging around with Ted ever since she lost out. It's really the same deal as the other two.

YES! And if I attend a live event, thats the sign I'd take I'm going to the Smackdown/NXT taping on January 25th, and I might just bring a sign like that.

He's just never really done ANYTHING for me, personally, to spark any interest whatsoever. Ted just has no real personality. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a more dull and bland person (Heath Slater withstanding). Yep, he has about as much charisma as larry king. The dude needs a radical gimmick change because he sure isn't his father, that's for damn sure. If I had to book him, I'd have him get hit on the head or something and have him start acting like a lunatic. I doubt he has the skills to pull it off but That's about the only way I could ever see him being remotely interesting.

He's just so bland.
It seems that WWE did everything they can in the sense of giving him the MD Championship, Maryse, and a new song. He's stil can't find any real personality.
He's just like McGillucuty. Their both the same really. Their father's has personality and charisma, but they can't seem to find it.

Ted really has no gimmick at this point. That in addition to losing all the time is not doing favors for him.
Let him speak, let him show a mean streak, let him do something and roll with it on a regular basis and you might have a star unfold.

They're too much like him.

What's sad is that I thought 2010 was really gonna be a breakout year for Ted. I actually had him picked to win the Legacy triple threat match at Wrestlemania. I feel so stupid for that pick now. Here I thought Orton and Rhodes were the bland characters and I couldn't have been any more wrong on that.

I love his theme song. But the problem is they are really half assing his gimmick. They need to make it over the top like they did with his dad but add in some rich kid jockish asshole vibes who has the hottest girlfriend and the nicest cars with it.
Also he should bring up the recession once in the while and blame the crowd for being victims of it while he has worked his ass of to be in the spot he is in.
