My personal theory is that Morrison will lose the match next Monday due to shenanigans but will win the Rumble. Cena and Orton have both won the Rumble recently so they don't need to win again. Triple H definitely doesn't need to win again. Sheamus and Barrett are the only other two that I could see winning, but at this point I don't even know if Barrett will be at the PPV.

Idea: What if they give Morrison a token title run from here until the Rumble? Miz will get a rematch then and regain.

It isnt at the rumble because they don't want Jomo vs. Miz headlining a PPV. They are just getting this title shot out of the way...they've got more important people to have headlining a PPV, like the people's 2nd champion JOHN CENA, or the texas rattlesna-oh damn, wait a minute..uhhhh.....python? RANDY ORTON.

Smackdown spoiler: {Spoiler}They announce a Last Man Standing match between Edge and Kane for next week on Smackdown so it's not so much not pushing Miz/Morrison but, pushing the regular shows hard(er).

hey! Someone finally said it!
I think that would be a pretty interesting way to go
They wouldn't be headlining that PPV. The Rumble match itself is the headliner. You can get away with a fresh faced title match at the Rumble PPV

I was thinking, as most people here were, that the match next week won't have a clean finish, but since it's a falls count anywhere, that might be kind of difficult. One of my friends postulated an ending where Miz just gets in a car backstage and drives away. Of course, not to be outdone, I suggested Morrison get in another car, follow him to the hotel, run him over, park the car on Miz's chest and let the ref count 1 2 3.
I'd be interested to hear some other theories about how next week won't end clean.

To answer the thread..because..he's not ready?..
It may be my opinion, and for all I know the 'E is planning on giving him the title (Hell, they gave it to Swagger) but to me The Shaman just ain't ready.
Hell I'd prefer they turn him heel right now and align with Miz and maybe do a slow drive towards a face turn again. Morrison wasn't "at his best" when he was a heel, it was when he was with Miz. You can tell they're good friends, it's easy for them to work together. Saddle him up with Miz again and grow as a character and get more and more comfortable on the mic.

Well, next RAW Miz will be no-showing and Alex Riley will compete instead of him against Morrison. Morrison wins, but the GM will cite the rules that he has to beat The Miz and not his proxy. I guess they just couldn't really do this on a PPV.
So anyway. Rematch at the Rumble. Gives plenty of time for the Miz to try to take out JoMo.
Either that, or Jerry Lawler somehow might get involved and JoMo loses because of this. Anyway, I expect a finish which would make the spectators of a PPV groaning and feel cheated out, so I guess they moved it to RAW instead.
Also, could be a Randy Orton heel turn...

How Id book it....
Miz is suspended for assaulting Lawler last week, title match moved to the Rumble.
In between book Morrison vs Orton with Morrison winning clean in a thrilling match which makes both guys look like a million bucks, with Orton shaking Morrison's hand afterwards.

I've said since the day he won that #1 contender slot that Morrison is nothing more than a speed bump for the Miz. We have no reason to believe that this is or ever was intended as a way to get Morrison into the main event. Morrison to Miz is roughly what Hardcore Holly was to Brock Lesnar. But didn't Holly at least get that title match on PPV? I have hope that some of you guys are right and there will be some sort of finish that at least extends it to the Rumble. With Cena potentially being out with injury it's only logical to push another guy or two to main event status. Even though I'm a little meh on Morrison (he's good in the ring and his promo is hit and miss) a fresh face in the title picture is never a bad thing.

Well, if Cena is out with an injury, then all bets are off with regards to wrestlemania. I still, however, don't think they'll be moving Morrison up to main event status. He doesn't have enough "it" to be a main event player. That may change in a year or so, but right now, he just doesn't have it. He certainly doesn't have enough to be considered a marketable draw for Wrestlemania. Again, maybe next year. Of course I could be wrong. Like I said, if Cena is out through Wrestlemania, all bets are off.

yeah, if cena's injury is bad, my pick for the rumble is going to be Punk, with Orton winning the belt off Miz very soon
