Now we're talking! I love John Cena. He got me back into wrestling when I saw him vs. Umaga at that Royal Rumble. I had been away for almost 10 years before that. Yeah, he's great.

I appreciate John Cena, because deep down, I still want to enjoy the product. [2006 smark]Only because he's shoved down our throats so hard you have to appreciate him or turn the TV off. [/2006 smark] I don't agree with your statement, quite frankly (Jesus, I'm turning into Vince). You don't have to appreciate someone to enjoy the product, you can dislike someone. Disliking one person will not take away your general enjoyment and you shouldn't take the like it or lump it attitude that I think you're describing. I, of course, could be completely misinterpreting what you're saying and if that is the case, I give my sincerest apologies. And to go back to the spirit of the thread, he brought back the Arabian Skullcrusher at TLC. That got some props from me.

John Cena was at his best in 2007. I know some hated his long reign but I thought it was brilliant and brought back some needed prestige to the belt. Plus he had an incredible run in the ring. He had a great match with Lashley, by far the best match him and and Orton have had at Summerslam, a great feud with HBK and an instant classic with Umaga at the Rumble.
I think he's actually lost a step in the ring.

Love John Cena. The best part about him is he treats heels the way they ought to be treated while still being a clean cut babyface.

I like Cena. He's good on the mic, gets the crowd involved, is from all accounts a good guy, busts his ass and rarely has bad matches. Yeah, the submission match against Show sucked ass, but that's because those are 2 guys who shouldn't have a submission match.

Back when I was dumb, I hated Cena, like around '06 and '07. I could'nt stand the guy, I wanted him to lose no matter what. I wanted him to lose to HHH and HBK when he was versing them (make's complete sense why Cena won). But I wasn't thinking at all. I just hated Cena and liked every heel. I was a smark, a marks for heels. Then it all changed when I came back to wresltling after a two year break.
Came back and haven't felt better to be a wrestling fan. I know realize that this is the John Cena show and all the heels have to try to beat him, but in the end he always find a way to win.
John Cena is undoubtfully one of the best workers in the WWE.
He's WWE's best top face since Stone Cold in the sense that he goes out there every night a put's 100% in everything he does. H'es is truthly one of the hardest workers in the business. H'es hard work and determination is why h'es at the top.
And frankly, I can't see it changing for a while. There seemingly is not a person on the roster (right now) that can fill the void of Cena. And, with him being 33 and hopefully he does'nt have any carrer shortening injuries, he's be around for the next decade at the least. He's now a veteran in the business and he's many good opponets for the next couple of years.

He's leading SportsNation's poll to win the 1st Annual "Awesomest Dude of the Year" award.
I think that's pretty great.

He's leading SportsNation's poll to win the 1st Annual "Awesomest Dude of the Year" award. I think that's pretty great. Yeah, he's leading guys like John Wall (Wizards), Brian Wilson (SF Giants), and Ron Artest (Lakers).

I can totally relate to that. At first I didn't like Cena because I felt like he wasn't good enough to be so popular. After a while I just wanted to see every heel own him and all the other faces. I hated seeing heels get owned. But that's what the product is about. You have the on big hero, along with a couple heroes underneath him, that silence the villain in the end. It's classic good verses evil. And who's a better "good guy" than John Cena?
