A few days ago I was just saying how awesome Bryan/Ryder segments would be. I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing for days.

I don't understand this boards love for Ryder. Is it ironic? Because he is pretty poor in the ring, and has an awful gimmick.

He's a good worker, has a great gimmick he came up with and pushed himself (plus awesome music) and just seems to absolutely love his job. He deserves everything good that comes to him. WWWYKI

I don't understand this boards love for Ryder. Is it ironic? Because he is pretty poor in the ring, and has an awful gimmick. Ryder is a great worker, has enough charisma to make his gimmick work, and a great theme to go along with it. But I think his biggest selling point is his goofy charm, I mean, I can you not love a guy who listens and sings along to his own theme song in his car in the middle of the highway?

If Punk's not available for WM to work with Bryan, then I think a 4 way between Bryan/Ryder/Truth/DiBiase would work well, especially if WWE could get the Jersey Shore gang for the WM celebrity appaerance in Ryder's corner.
Think about it. DiBiase gets to be on WM, Bryan gets to go over them all, R-Truth gets to come out and do his rapping entrance thing, and Ryder gets to work with "celebs". I think it could work!

I get the goofy thing, and yeah it's fun to watch. But great gimmick? What? Really don't see it at all. It's laughable and really won't/isn't getting over.
As for his in ring work, the matches I've seen with him (Edgehead, ECW and a couple on Raw) he's looked average at best. I haven't seen him on Superstars so maybe he's improved. I guess if he's what people think is a good wrestler then I'm just expecting too much from wrestlers these days.

Perhaps those of us who see the greatness in Ryder are those who used to watch ECW where he flourished and put on consistentlhy great matches each week.

Curt Hawkins, is that you? I still stand by my ironic comment. Part of me thinks if he was over as hell, had the kids wearing his merch and never lost a match then people wouldn't like him half as much. Just another guy people can get behind because WWE ain't pushing him.

Just another guy people can get behind because WWE ain't pushing him. Everyone seems to hate this Robby E character in TNA (from what I have seen and heard) and he is from the same mold of Ryder so I don't think it has to do with WWE not pushing him. I just think that Ryder is good in the ring, has a catchy and memorable theme and actually has a gimmick! He is a character. He has charisma and is quite amusing. I think this is why people like him. Why he wasn't pushed to a US title or IC title right away is beyond me with how hot the Jersey Shore craze was when he debuted. This is one of the only times the WWE has created something pop culturally relevant without it being 5-10 years late.

A Ryder / Bryan match would be amazing. Ryder stole the show most every week on ECW during its dying days.
