My personal favorite fix for Universe is to toss it and bring back GM mode.

Universe Mode is not bad. But it's flawed. It's something that THQ can work for future instalments of the game.
Here are some things to fix Universe Mode:
-Be able to change the participants in title matches,#1 contenders and Money In The Bank matches without having them being changed to non title/normal matches. -Tone down the ambush entrances. Like no ambushes on CAWs having their first match, and the main event of Wrestlemania. -Matches should only be restarted if the match finishes in a DQ, count out or the match featured a run in that affected the finish. -Tag Teams should only break up if you say it's OK to, first.

I've got the Wii version, done everything I needed to do to unlock Terry Funk at Wrestlemania, every alternative storyline and backstage fight in Rey's RTWM, but he's still not in the Green Room! There must be something I haven't done...
Anyway, I do love how at Wrestlemania on Christian's RTWM, if you search around the backstage area you'll find Santino singing "Woah, woah, it's Wrestle-mania, fighting to survive...just like that" and doing his trombone dance. It's honestly one of the funniest things i've heard and seen in a while.
I hate how the Universe breaks my teams up too. I've created myself with my new gimmick i'm using with my local promotion - "HeAdCaSe" (see sig pic) and am managed by James Mitchell. (I only created Mitchell because I wanted to put myself in a stable of freaks and didn't want to use Paul Bearer, so far my Mitchell CAW has had rave reviews which is cool)

All I really want fixed for Universe is to have the title belts be able to be defended whenever you feel like it. The way it's handled in the game is terrible.

Just had an awesome cutscene in Universe. I'd had a 20 minute epic with HBK, which Edge interfered in & almost cost me the title so next night I was booked against him. Beat him in under a minute & afterwards my teammates sprint down & I thought "Oh great, I'm gonna get betrayed" but instead we all beat the crap out of him, my one of them gets a chair & hands it to me to clobber him with. I still love this mode, even if others don't!

Any other potential systems people have mused upon? - Show cutscenes regardless of if you watch the match or not, or at least include in the match result if someone ran in, made an appearance, if the match was restarted, etc. - You should always be able to put a wrestler anywhere you want in the rankings. I like things to flow naturally, but in my Universe Rey Mysterio and Undertaker are feuding for the World Title for an eternity and I'd like to simply move one of them to the bottom of the rankings just for something fresh to occur. - Backstage events. I need more Smackdown 2 style randomness in my WWE Universe, Maryse talking to Mark Henry about God knows what, MVP beating up Evan Bourne for reasons that may or may not ever be revealed. - Maybe there should be a single player WWE Universe mode where you control just one guy so you have more control over his storylines, someone calls you out, you can choose whether or not you answer it. You can come out and make a challenge and see if it gets answered, choose what match, lead or join factions, things like that.

Just noticed that they still bill Ziggler from California. I thought the Ezekiel thing was bad but damn, fairly certain he's been doing the Florida thing for a couple years now. It says "Hollywood, Florida".

Brawl for All!
As the credits rolled on this past week's Smackdown, the WWE Universe watched as the entire locker room descended towards the ring in a huge brawl. It all started during the main event, which was Randy Orton & Sean Nessinger vs Rey Mysterio, John Morrison & Matt Hardy. General Manager Teddy Long set the match up as a punishment for Orton and Nessinger screwing Smackdown over at Bragging Rights. Not taking kindly to this, Orton ended the match by grabbing a steel chair and walloping his opponents. His partner followed suit, leading wrestlers in the back to come to the rescue.
These included Intercontinental Champion Sheamus, MVP, Mark Henry and The Big Show. Even World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho got involved, still scorned over the two's interference in his contest against WWE Champion John Cena. This lead to a fight between the ayatollah of rock and rolla and his former partner, the massive Big Show. As they fought throughout the arena, more wrestlers made their way to the ring, including the Royal Throne, who went straight for Sheamus.
The show closed with security doing their best to salvage the situation. One must wonder how General Manager Teddy Long will deal with this. We'll find out next week on Smackdown!
CM Punk Stripped of WWE Championship; Title Now Vacant
The WWE Universe was buzzing after CM Punk won the WWE Championship on the Raw after Bragging Rights. Not so much over the fact that a new champion was crowned, but in how he went about "winning" the title. The original contest was to be Cena defending the gold against Vance Archer, who had defeated him a week earlier in a non-title contest. Upon his arrival to the ring, Archer complained of having injuries from his match at Bragging Rights, which he won (along with Punk and Gallows). He did find a suitable replacement, however, in the form of his leader, CM Punk. A little over ten minutes later, a new champion was crowned!
At the top of the show last night, General Manager Stephanie McMahon demanded the new champion to come to the ring. Once he graced the fans in Hartford, CT with his presence, he was stripped of the belt. McMahon stated that Punk was not scheduled to challenge for the title, therefore making his title victory a felony. She then awarded the title back to Cena. Throwing an understandable tantrum, Punk vowed to make Stephanie pay for her actions.
That he did, in the form of the Board of Directors. Being only a few minutes away from the arena, Punk contacted the Board and filed a complaint against the Raw General Manager. After taking it into consideration, the Board made an appearance later in the night at the arena. It was here that they agreed with Stephanie's decision to strip Punk of the title. However, they chastised her for waiting a full week to make the decision. They felt she should have stopped the match before it began, as opposed to waiting until it finished. Thanks to this, they stripped Cena of the belt and have currently vacated it. Next week, they will come to their final decision on the WWE Title Picture.
That wasn't the only title controversy of the evening. In the main event, United States Champion The Miz defended his title against Kofi Kingston, in what was a thrilling contest. As the match neared it's end, Kofi was setting up for the Trouble in Paradise. Miz moved out of the way just in time, causing the referee to take the hit.
The two warriors continued their battle, with Miz hitting his patented Mizard of Oz. This lead to him setting up for the Skull Crushing Finale, which Kofi blocked. After a back and forth fist fight, Miz got the upper hand via raking his opponent in the eyes. He bounced off the ropes, only to eat a Trouble in Paradise. Kofi went for the cover, but the ref was still down.
As he went to revive him, Miz snuck out of the ring and snatched his US title. It seemed as if he was going to walk away, when Kofi stopped him by grabbing him by the hair. When he went to drag his foe into the ring, he was clocked with the title belt. Miz then brought the title into the ring and hit his finishing maneuver, the Skull Crushing Finale, onto the belt. He then disposed of the evidence, revived the referee and got the three count.
One must wonder what will come of this controversial title defense. With the Board of Directors already being wrapped up with the WWE Title fiasco, how will they respond to this travesty? Will Kofi get another shot at the title? Will Miz be stripped of the United States Championship? Stay tuned to find out!

In correspondence with the early update, Edge faced up against the New Tag Champs who beat him down two weeks again, The Bruderschaft Des Jungden, managed by the WWE Champ & other Bruderschaft member AJ Powell.
He came out alone, only to bring out his partner.... Christian! He fought well, but when he went to tag Christian, he was left for dead by his partner, leaving him to get beaten down & destroyed by the champs & then Clobbered with a chair by the WWE champ afterwards. Only time will tell how this will unfold!

Wow. I just finished a complete year that followed one storyline.
WM begins, and heel Jericho wins MITB. Next night on Raw, Jericho becomes Nº1 Contender for the WWE title. He wins the title at Backlash by beating Steve Austin. Immediately afterwards, Jericho cashes in on Swagger, becoming Undisputed Champion.
Jericho defends both titles until January. However, at the Royal Rumble, though he is able to retain the WWE title, he loses the World title to face Edge in a fatal 4 way match with Sheamus and Brock Lesnar. Since I imagine this is what real life Jericho would do in this situation, I draft him to SmackDown and have him "demand" a spot in the Rumble, which he gets. The Royal Rumble match begins. Nº1 entrance: BREAK THE WALLS DOWN! Despite coming in at number one, WWE Champion Chris Jericho wins the Royal Rumble. Edge and Jericho both retain their titles at Elimination Chamber (curiously nethier man participated in a EC match). Once again, WrestleMania begins.
Jericho sucessfully defends WWE title against Shawn Michaels and, to even things up, I book Edge in the second to last match. Edge beats Undertaker in a non title match, ending the streak. Since the Main Event is just for Edge's title, I decide to modify it with title match glitch. The ME is now a 60 minute Falls Count Anywhere Hell In A Cell Iron Man match for both titles. I decide to play as Jericho.
The match is back and forth all night, with lots of cell beraking, table breaking, pinfalls, submissions and near falls. 2 minutes till the end of the match, the score is 4-4. I climb cell to win match on top. Edge follows, reverses my attacks and earns finisher. Just as I stand in front of a previously made hole in the cell, Edge runs and hits the Spear, which causes that we both fall through the cell and lay unconscious. Just 10 seconds before it ends, Edge gets up and pins Jericho, winning the match 5-4 and becoming the new Undisputed Champion.
That whole year and payoff was so freaking awesome, I didn't even get a little mad.

I would like to see Universe Mode have random between-match cutscenes setting up matches than night to make it even more like you're watching WWE TV.

Well, like all SVR games, the first year a feature is implemented it is not completely well-realized and often glitched up.
2012 will probably do wonders for Universe. We're just apart of the beta for it at the moment.

After a long time of being stuck in limbo, Miz is moving back up the Raw card, while Jake the Snake has sneak attacked and destroyed everybody on the Raw roster, and looks to take Van Dam's US title at TLC.

Just discovered Free Agents will get matches in Universe Mode as long as they are in a tag team (even when both team mates are Free Agents)

It would be cool if it gave you an option as to how you act after you play a match as a guy.
Something like the old SmackDown HCTP thing where you could offer a handshake, attack your opponent or whatever.
All I really want from the mode is greater control.
