EDIT: Please check out my AWESOME review/recap at the following link: train.board8.com/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=50051 (Contains Spoilers)
I guess they are going to be taping this next week. I live right outside of Fort Hood, so I suppose I should go. I'm having a hard time finding good info on it though. Any help please? (maybe I'll bring my Percymania sign - yes, I still have it ;D)

You shouldn't be allowed in if you aren't a troop. Just saying.

I'm a veteran though. I've worked for the Army for 8 years - most of the time on Fort Hood. Twice I was stationed in Iraq when the WWE did the Tribute to the Troops over there, but I was never able to go because our mission was "too important" or because they did it at a camp I wasn't at.
Do you still think I should not be allowed in because I'm no longer actively serving? I can still go on Fort Hood whenever I please. I was just on base today, as a matter of fact.

Heck, I was even working in that building that Nidal Hasan shot up last year. I was one who fled, and I quit my job two months after that. I feel I deserve to be a part of this as much as anybody.

If you're a Veteran, than yeah, then you should be able to go. I just thought you were some guy wanting to go watch Tribute to the Troops...which would be wrong to me.
I'm an Army Vet too, Infantry for 5 years and did an Iraq combat tour..and didn't get to see anything fun either since we actually...you know, did work while there.

I'm sure just sayng your a vet in this situation would suffice.
How was highroad supposed to know all of that info from your post? Think it's prob best if we get back to wrestling and away from war...
Anyway, hope you enjoy the show!

The closest I got to the WWE when I was in Iraq was seeing Kurt Angle during a meet and greet. I didn't get to meet him, but I saw him from a distance. Whoopie. Oh, and *high five* to a fellow veteran. Yeah, it would be weird going if I didn't have the strong military connection that I have. Fort Hood is basically home to me. I'm not trying to deny any other Soldiers from going - heck they can have all the good seats. I'll stand way in the back. I just want to go because I missed out on the other TttT shows and I can't afford to go to TLC in Houston later this month. Plus, who can resist a WWE show in their backyard?

Here's some of the information contained in the press release, courtesy of PWTorch.com:
WWE and NBC issued a press release today announcing new celebrity additions to the "Tribute to the Troops" special airing December 18 on NBC. The list includes:

-- Recent Raw guest host Cedric "The Entertainer" will perform comedy.
-- Ariel Winter from "Modern Family" will perform the National Anthem.
-- This week's Raw guest star, Rima Fakih, will announce matches.
-- Sherri Shepherd will be in attendance.
WWE is advertising matches featuring Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, WWE champion The Miz, and other wrestlers.
The hour-long special will air in prime time on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 9:00 p.m. EST on NBC. The special will be recorded one week in advance at Fort Hood in Texas.

-- Sherri Shepherd will be in attendance. She wasn't invited, she's just trying to find out why MVP never called her.

I don't even know who Ariel Winter, Rima Fakih, or Sherri Shepherd are. Sherri SHepard is a co-host of The View. Rima Fakh was on RAW last week and she is the current Miss USA.

I used to serve in Fort Hood, with the 1st CAV. In 2003, I got autographs from Stacy Keibler, Sable, Stone Cold, and Lita, and had I not left in 2005, I would have gotten Triple H's. I also watched WWE's PPVs at that sports bar in Fort Hood (the one with Mean Gene's Burgers). I forgot the name of it, but it's located in the 1st CAV area.

Ah yes... Mean Gene's Burgers. They were pretty bad. That closed up years ago. The name of the bar you're thinking of is "Sports USA" though the bar is now closed up too. In fact, they remodeled that whole building and turned it into the Soldier Readiness Processing Center - which is the sight of last year's shooting. Crazy, huh?
oh and *high-five* to another Vet.

Wait, so our president's name is Barack Obama and Miss USA is named Rima Fakh? Times sure have changed in America. >_> That reminds me, CM Punk on Raw said he dressed up nice for her. . . I'm not sure if he was referring to the Star of David on his Colt shirt or not, but maybe I was expecting him to say something else that could be controversial after the "King Kofi Kingston" line. Oh, and to the vets on the boards: Thank You.

I won't be going to TLC either but hopefully you can go to the tribute... My young aunt served close to where they did it in 2006 I believe. She said she heard that they(WWE) were coming. But she didn't get to go as well since her mission was also important ... Oh, and to the vets on the boards: Thank You. This ^ I thank you from me as well a thanks isn't big enough for what yall have done actually

The name of the place you're referring to is SportsUSA. Or at least that's what it was called when I left Hood. (2001) I also used to watch damn near every PPV there. Good times.
