Jerry Lawler is fatter than her.
I'll start calling him names now whenever I see him.

Really. I would get it if this was the Vickie of maybe a year or two ago, but she's been in great shape for a while now. I get the exaggerations, but most of the fat jokes were just terrible. But then again, if a Diva isn't a plastic toothpick, they're fat and ugly by WWE logic. I agree. I was uncomfortable with the angle.

And this kind of angle is the very reason Awesome Kong will never see the bright lights of a WWE ring in her career ever.

And this kind of angle is the very reason Awesome Kong will never see the bright lights of a WWE ring in her career ever. Which is a shame because if there was ever a way to truly get a face over it would be Kong. Hell, compare Gail Kim now to Gail Kim, Knockouts Champion. Gail was on fire then, and it largely had to do with being a giant killer.

She's a hated heel. I don't get the moral outrage here to be honest. To me, it's just, the babyfaces are making fun of the hated heel, to the crowds delight. Why would the crowd be delighted? Because she's a hated heel.
She doesn't have the typical diva look, but people should take this into consideration. She is one of the most hated women in the history of WWE. She has more heat than a good chunk of the men. They have been trying to find a bunch of models, trying to find people with superstar looks, bodybuilders, bikini models, etc. But, a 40 year old woman who doesn't fit the mold of your typical female character on WWE gets more reaction then most of the people on the roster. What that says to me, and I really wish WWE would take note of this. Is that in the long run, looks don't matter. How you connect with the audience matters.
WWE is wasting their time trying to find models who only bring the crickets out. They need to find people who are talented and who can either get heat, or become beloved.

I'm sorry, and I know taste is taste and all, but...
the people that would take Vickie Guerrero over Mickie James truly, truly stun me. And I think Vickie looks great for her age.

I hate the fat jokes about her. Its nothing to dow ith her weight anymore, its just an automatic go-to now. The jokes were funny, but completely irrelevant.

She's a hated heel. I don't get the moral outrage here to be honest. It's because it's a fat joke about a woman. If they were making fat jokes about the Big Show, there'd be little to no grief. "Samoa Joe is fat" became a meme with little to no "that denigrates overweight people!". That's why the old refrain of "but women have body image issues" gets trotted out. As if the WWE were not equally vain about how all their male wrestlers have to look. As if steroid abuse WASN'T far worse and far more damaging than bulimia. And so on. And the whole "this sends the wrong message!" reasoning is very suspect. If some parent coalition said "pro wrestling sends the wrong message, it teaches kids that it's okay to beat the snot of each other with chairs, and some kid died imitating pro wrestling moves, his blood is on the WWE's hands", we would crap all over them, and with good reason! When it's something that upsets the PTC, it's just hot air from the "professionally offended", but when it's something that upsets ME? It must end! This sends the wrong message! 1) Hitting someone with a chair is far worse than calling someone fat. 2) If pro wrestlers hitting each other with chairs does not send the message that it's okay to hit people with chairs, pro wrestlers calling each other fat does not send the message that it's okay to call people fat. End of line. Absolutely. Vickie doesn't even have to be fat, it's the fact that she's furiously sensitive about it. The faces razz the heel and piss her off, and this gets over. Why? Because she's a hated heel. I've said it before -- I'm sure she's making Eddie proud. She has gone from "getting a sympathy job because she's a widow" to really finding her niche. People talk about how Eric Young in TNA is great at taking what they give him and running with it, I think the same could be said for Vickie here. And that's a huge compliment to my mind.

Agreed on all counts. The flip side of that is also why I never got all the gnashing of teeth about the Piggy James thing, cuz in that case you had the plucky face that the fans loved being made fun of by the evil superficial bitch heels; thus deflating the insult. She is in better shape, and Vickie Guerrero the person is losing weight, has found her niche, and gone from a terrible performer a few years ago to one of the most over acts in the company. Vickie Guerrero the character is a vengeful, annoying, conniving, angry shrew that the crowd loves to boo, jeer and vicariously make fun of via the faces. I still don't see the problem

Thank you, both! I'm suspecting that this all part of a double standard going on. Now hear me out, this is merely a theory; but if it wasn't Cena making fun of Vickie, but instead Punk or Daniel Bryan, there wouldn't be much of a fuss. It may be a little insensitive to say, but I am pretty sure that's what would happen. From the looks of things, it seems as though some of the posters around these parts are a little more impressionable than that youth demographic that they hate so much. I doubt a 7 year old kid will now go to school after watching RAW and make fun of the fat kid in class. It was a single segment, that's it. It's not like Vince McMahon came on screen and said "fat people suck" on screen or anything. It was a segment where the faces mocked the heels, to the crowd's delight I might add.
